Էլլի Ջոնս անունով այս աղջիկը ծնվել է դեմքի տարօրինակ ձևով ու 8 տարեկանում նրա մոտ ծնոտը դադարել է աճել։Արդյունքում նրա դեմքի ներքևի մասի ոսկորները չեն զարգացել ու նորմալ չափից փոքր են մնացել։ 14 տարեկանում աղջկան բրեկետներ են դրել, իսկ հաջորդ 6 տարիների ընթացքում նա շարունակաբար այցելել է դիմա-ծնոտային վիրաբույժ Էմմի Վուլի մոտ՝ փոխելու համար ոչ միայն ծնոտը, այլ նաև կյանքը։ Առաջին վիրահատությունը Էլլին տարել է 16 տարեկանում
Չնայած վիրահատության ընթացքում զգացած ցավերին, Էլլին ասում է, որ հիացած է արդյունքներով։ «Ես թեթևացած եմ զգում, վերջապես զգում եմ, որ կարող եմ լինեմ այնպիսին, ինչպիսին կան։ Առաջ ես շատ էի ամաչում, բայց հիմա ինձ ինքնավստահ եմ զգում, վիրահատությունը փոխեց իմ կյանքը»։
