Հայաստանի ազգային հավաքականի և «Մանչեսթեր Յունայթեդ»-ի կիսապաշտպան Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը հարցազրույց է ունեցել «The Telegraph»-ի հետ:

Բրիտանական պարբերականին հայտնում է, որ Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը զրույցում խոսել է հոր՝ Համլետ Մխիթարյանի մասին:

«Հայրս իմ ներշնչանքն էր, իմ մոտիվացիայի աղբյուրը: Երբ ես երեխա էի, հայրս ֆուտբոլ էր խաղում  պրոֆեսիոնալ մակարդակով, իսկ ես երազում էի նրա հետ գնալ և հայտնվել մարզահրապարակում: Երբ ընտանիքով վերադարձանք Հայաստան, իմ երազանքն էր շարունակել նրա աշխատանքը և դառնալ ֆուտբոլիստ: Ցավում եմ, որ նա իմ կողքին չէ: Ինչևէ սա կյանք է և ամեն ինչ շարունակվում է: Հուսով եմ, որ հայրս երկնքից տեսնում է՝ ինչպիսի աշխատանք եմ կատարում: Ամեն ինչ անում եմ, որ նա հպարտ լինի ինձնով: 

Շատ կցանկանայի հայրս տեսներ, թե ինչպիսի խաղ եմ ցուցադրում  հիմա: Միշտ դիտել եմ նրա մասնակցությամբ հանդիպումները, սակայն հիմա ֆուտբոլում շատ բան է փոխվել: Հիմա ես դիտում եմ նրա հանդիպումները միայն այն բանի համար, որ հիշեմ, թե նա ինչպես է խաղացել: Ափսոս, կյանքը այսպիսինն է: Նա ինձ շատ կօգներ ավելի լավը դառնալու հարցում:

Երբ մտածում, հասկանում եմ, որ հորս մահը շատ բան փոխեց իմ կյանքում, իմ մտքերում և ես ավելի արագ հասունացա, սակայն մյուս կողմից անչափ դժվար է մեծանալ առանց հոր ներկայության, քանի որ ընտանիքում դու չունես տղամարդ, ով կկարողանար քեզ դաստիարակել: Մայրս ինձ համար և՛ հայր է, և՛ մայր: Շնորհակալ եմ այն մարդկանց, ովքեր միշտ իմ կողքին են»,-ասել է Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը:
