Ներկայացնում ենք թերթի խմբագրականից մի հատված.

«1996 թվականի նախագահական ընտրություններից առաջ ես հեռուստատեսային հարցազրույցներ վերցրեցի նախագահի բոլոր թեկնածուներից։ Վազգեն Մանուկյանն ասաց, որ երբ ինքը գա իշխանության, ՀՀՇ-ն պատասխան կտա իր հանցագործությունների համար, իսկ աճբողջ թալանածը կվերադարձվի ժողովրդին։ Իմ ճշտող հարցին՝ «բոլորն են դատվելու», պարոն Մանուկյանը պատասխանեց՝ «ոչ, միայն նրանք, ում դատ է հասնում»։ Մոտավորապես նույնն ասաց Աշոտ Մանաչարյանը։ Այս դեպքում էլ ես որոշեցի հստակության մտցնել՝ «ինչի՝ համար է դատվելու, օրինակ, Բաբկեն Արարքցյանը»։ Նախագահի թեկնածուի պատասխանն էր՝ «նրա համար, որ սոցիալական ծանր վիճակում գտնվող մի կին ինքնասպանություն է գործել՝ իրեն դուրս գցելով պատահանից»։ «Դրա համար ԱԺ նախագահին դատ է հասնում», - հարցրեցի ես։ «Իհարկե՛», - շեշտադրված  պատասխանել էր Մանաչարյանը։

 20 տարում քաղաքական պայքարի սխեման Հայաստանում չի փոխվել։ Ընդդիմությունը մշտապես սպառնում է իշխանությանը, որ իշխանափոխությունից հետո վերջինս սարսափելի իրավիճակի մեջ է հայտնվելու, եթե ոչ ծառերի վրա կախած, ապա առնվազն «Նաբարաշեն» ՔԿՀ-ում, իսկ բոլոր դղյակները, ինչպես ասում են՝ «արտերու, եզնրու, կովերու և ագարակներու» հետ միասին, իշխանավորների ձեռքից կառնվի և «կվերադարձվի ժողովրդին»։ Ընդ որում, ընդդիմադիրները միանգամայն վստահ են, որ իշխանափոխությունից հետո էլ դատարանները գործադիր իշխանության գրպանում են լինելու և իրենք (դե, իհարկե, ոչ թե իրենք, այլ «ժողովուրդը»՝ ի դեմս իրենց)  վրեժ կլուծեն  նախկին  իշխանավորներից»,–գրում է թերթի խմբագիրը։
