«Վերջին օրերին վրացական և հայկական մամուլը գրեց այն մասին, որ Թբիլիսիում կառուցվում է վրաց-հայկական դպրոց՝ նախատեսված 1000 աշակերտի համար։ Այս լուրը խիստ ոգևորություն է առաջացրել Հայաստանում, և շատերը խոսում էին հայ-վրացական «կրթական հաշտեցման» մասին, ինչն իրականում այդքան էլ այդպես չէ։ Բանն այն է, որ Թբիլիսիի հայերը միշտ էլ նախապատվությունը տվել են իրենց երեխաներին ռուսական դասարաններ ուղարկելուն, և դժվար թե նոր կառուցվող դպրոցը գոնե 50 տոկոսով հայ աշակերտներով հագեցած լինի։
Թբիլիսիի հայ համայնքի հետ մեր անձնական զրույցներում շատերը պնդում էին, որ նման փորձեր նախկինում ևս եղել են, որն արդյունք չի տվել, և, ի վերջո, այն դարձել է զուտ վրացական դպրոց։ Ստացվում է, որ վրաց-հայկական դպրոց կառուցելու մասին լուր տարածելով՝ վրացական կողմն իրականում քարոզչական խնդիր է լուծում, որ երբ մերոնք հանկարծ ինչ-ինչ կրթական հարցեր բարձրացնեն վրացական կառավարության առաջ, ապա թե մերոնց և թե միջազգային հանրությանը կարողանան ցույց տալ կառուցվող հայկական դպրոցը և ասել՝ տեսեք, թե ինչ մեծ բան ենք արել ազգային փոքրամասնությունների համար»,–գրում է թերթը։
