Ծանոթությունների ծառայությունների անցկացրած նոր հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ որքան մեծ է տղամարդու ոտքի չափսը, այդքան քիչ է նա հակված պահպանելու հավատարմություն իր երկրորդ կեսի նկատմամբ:
Այսպես, ամենահավատարիմն ուժեղ սեռի այն ներկայացուցիչներն են, որոնց կոշիկի չափսը 40-42 է: Իսկ ահա սկսած ոտքի 43 չափսից տղամարդկային հավատարմությունը համամասնորեն նվազում է:
Հետազոտության ղեկավարներից մեկը` Մայք Թեյլորը, մեկնաբանել է. «Չնայած ոմանք պնդում են, թե չկա որևէ կապ ոտքի չափի և մարմնի մնացած մասերի միջև, այդուհանդերձ, թվում է, որ սերտ համամասնություն կա ամուսնուն դավաճանելու ցանկության և կոշիկի չափսի միջև»:
Օրինակ, Բիլ Քլինտոնը, որին վերագրվում են բազմաթիվ դավաճանություններ, ունի 45 չափսի ոտք, գրում է The Hindustan Times-ը:
Մեկ այլ ծանոթությունների կայքի հիմնադիրները պարզել են դավաճանության հիմնական պատճառները: Այսպես, ավելի հաճախ մարդիկ դավաճանում են, եթե իրենց զուգընկերոջից ինչ-որ բան չեն ստանում: Տղամարդկանց 24%-ը դավաճանում է այն բանի համար, որ իրենց երկրորդ կեսը հրաժարվում է սեքսից, 18%-ին դավաճանության մղում են վեճերը, 15%-ը բողոքել է սահմանափակ ազատությունից, իսկ 12%-ը դժգոհել է, որ իրենց կանայք չափից դուրս ուշադրություն են պահանջում իրենց նկատմամբ:
