Հայաստանում քաղաքական փոփոխություններ կատարելու համար բռնությունը երբեք ընդունելի տարբերակ չի կարող լինել: Այս մասին նշեց ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսը` հուլիսի 20-ին անդրադառնալով օրեր առաջ մի խումբ զինված անձանց կողմից ՀՀ ոստիկանության պարեկապահակային ծառայության գնդի վրա հարձակմանը: «Երեկ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարությունում այս մասին հարց հնչեցվեց: Մեր կողմից Հայաստանի իշխանություններին հորդոր եղավ՝ իրավիճակը զսպվածությամբ և արհեստավարժ կերպով կարգավորելու վերաբերյալ: Հիմա ժամանակն է, որ բոլոր հայերի կողմից օրենքի գերակայության նկատմամբ հարգանք դրսևորվի, որպեսզի իրավիճակը խաղաղ հանգուցալուծվի, ինչը, կարծում եմ, այն է, ինչ բոլորն են ցանկանում»,- նշեց Միլսը:

Նրա խոսքով` ԱՄՆ դեսպանությունը ուշադիր հետևում է իրավիճակին: Դեսպանը դեսպանության և իր անունից ցավակցություն հայտնեց զոհված սպայի հարազատներին:

Հուլիսի 17-ի առավոտյան մի խումբ զինված անձինք մուտք են գործել ՀՀոստիկանության պարեկապահակային ծառայության գնդի տարածք ևբռնության սպառնալիքով  պահել այնտեղ գտնվող անձանց` պահանջելովազատ արձակել մոտ մեկ ամիս առաջ մի խումբ անձանց կողմից ապօրինի կերպով զենք և ռազմամթերք ձեռ բերելը, փոխադրելը և պահելը կազմակերպելումեղադրանքով կալանավորված Ժիրայր Սեֆիլյանին:

ՀՀ ոստիկանության պարեկապահակային ծառայության գնդի վրա հարձակման հետևանքով զոհվել է  Ոստիկանության գնդապետ Արթուր Վանոյանը:Հարձակման ընթացքում հրազենային վնասվածքներ են ստացել ՀՀ Ոստիկանության գնդապետ Արամ Հովհաննիսյանը, Ոստիկանության փոխգնդապետ ՀրաչԽոստեղյանը, Ոստիկանության ենթասպա Գագիկ Մկրտչյանը:
