Թուրքիայում ռազմական հեղաշրջման փորձը Եվրամիությանը շփոթության մեջ է դրել հետագա գործողությունների առումով, գրում է Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung–ը։

Թերթը նշում է, որ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանն առանց այդ էլ «դեպի Եվրոպա փախստականների հոսքի հրամանատարն էր», իսկ հիմա նա Օլիմպոսի գագաթն է բարձրացել։ Վերջին տասնամյակների ոչ մի եվրոպական կամ հյուսիսամերիկյան քաղաքական գործիչ չի  կարող պարծենալ, որ ժողովրդի օգնությամբ ճնշել է զինված ապստամբությունը։

Իսկ Թուրքիայում այդպես էլ եղավ. Էրդողանը ժողովրդին կոչ արեց դուրս գալ փողոց, եւ քիչ չէր նրանց թիվը, որոնք դրա համար սեփական արյամբ վճարեցին։ Միջազգային հասարակությունը պաշտպանեց ժողովրդավար ընտրված պետության ղեկավարին։

Սակայն, գրում է հեղինակը, Թուրքիան Եվրոպայի խորհրդի եւ ՆԱՏՕ–ի անդամ է եւ ԵՄ անդամակցության թեկնածու։ Այդ կազմակերպություններին անդամակցությունը ենթադրում է հարգել երկրում մարդու իրավունքները։

Էրդողանի սկսած աննախադեպ զտումները սխալ են, որին պետք է հետեւել, եւ որը չի կարելի հանդուրժել, գրում է թերթը։ Դրա համար գոյություն ունի Եվրամիությունը, որից հայտնում են, որ հեղաշրջումը ճնշելը դեռ կամայականության արդարացում չէ։

Թերթը դատողություններ է անում ստեղծված իրավիճակում ԵՄ–ի հետագա պլանների մասին։ Էրդողանը հայտարարում է, թե բլոկի կարիքը չունի, եւ Թուրքիան ոչ ոքից թույլտվություն չպետք է հարցնի մահապատիժ սահմանելու համար։

Իր հերթին Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը Էրդողանին  հուսալի գործընկեր է համարում, որը պահում է խոսքը միգրացիոն ճգնաժամի լուծման եւ անվտանգության հարցերում։

Շուտով պարզ կդառնա, թե ինչ արժեք ունեն եվրոպացիների բառերը, որոնք աջակցում են Էրդողանին։ Եթե Թուրքիան շարունակի ընդունել փախստականներին, սակայն դրա հետ մեկտեղ հալածի ընդդիմադիրներին, ապա դժվար թե ԵՄ–ն հանդուրժի դա։ Միությունը ճամփաբաժանի առաջ է կանգնել. մի  կողմից՝ պետք է պաշտպանի Թուրքիային, իսկ մյուս կողմից՝ չի կարող իրեն բռնապետից կախման մեջ դնել, եզրափակում է հեղինակը։
