«Ժամանակակից Սինգապուրի հիմնադիր Լի Քուան Յուն գտնում էր, որ իսկական ժողովրդավարության համար պետք է, որ բնակչության գոնե կեսը ստանա ամիսը 5000 դոլար և լավ կրթված լինի։ Ենթադրենք։ Իսկ ի՞նչ է պետք, որ բնակչությունը լինի այդքան կրթված և բարեկեցիկ։ Ենթադրում եմ, որ... ժողովրդավարություն։ Եթե ոչ, ապա ո՞րն է դրա այլընտանքը։ Որ ոչ ժողովրդավարական ճանապարհով իշխանության գան մարդիկ, որոնք ներքուստ այնքան ազնիվ, անշահախնդիր և հայրենասեր կլինեն, որ չեն մտածի իրենց, իրենց ընտանիքների և շրջապատի հարստացման մասին, հավասար պայմաններ կստեղծեն բոլոր գործարարների համար, և այդ՝ հրաշքով հայտնված անզուգական մարդկանց բարեմասնությունների շնորհիվ երկիրն այնքան կբարգավաճի, որ քաղաքացիների կեսը կստանա 5000 դոլարից ավելի ամսական աշխատավարձ ու կզբաղվի ինքնակրթությամբ։ Չգիտեմ, գուցե աշխարհում նման դեպքեր եղել են, բայց Հայաստանում դա բացառված է։ Ստացվում է, որ մեր երկրում բարեկեցիկ կյանքի համար պետք է ժողովրդավարություն, բայց, ըստ Սինգապուրի նախկին վարչապետհ, ժողովրդավարությունը  հնարավոր  է միայն  բարեկեցիկ  երկրում։

Հավի ու ձվի այդ «անհաղթահարելի դիալեկտիկայից» դուրս գալու ելքը, հավանաբար, աստիճանական անցումն է, որտեղ խթանն, այնուամենայնիվ, քաղաքական փոփոխությունները պետք է լինեն։ Եթե խորհրդարանական ընտրություններում ՀՀԿ-ն «կայուն մեծամասնություն» չստանա, ապա դժվար թե դա բերի ժողովրդավարության և առավել ևս՝ 5000 դոլարանոց աշխատավարձի, բայց շատ հավանական է՝ դա դրական ազդանշան կլինի, մարդիկ կհասկանան, որ քաղաքական մենաշնորհը հավերժ չէ՝ հետևաբար կարող են վերանալ նաև տնտեսական մենաշնորհները։ Դա քայլ կլինի դեպի տնտեսական ազատությանը։ Խոսքը հենց ընտրությունների մասին է։ Պալատական հեղաշրջումը ոչինչ չի տալիս՝ այդ պարագայում ցանկացած այլ կուսակցություն կլինի «ՀՀԿ»»,–գրում է թերթի խմբագիրը։
