Հայաստանը զարգանալու մեծ տեղ ու ակնկալիքներ ունի, ինչի համար ահռելի ջանքեր են ներդրվում: «Ալ-Մայադին» հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում, խոսելով Հայաստանի ներկայիս սոցիալ-տնտեսական իրավիճակի մասին, ասել է ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` նա հավելել է, որ առաջիկա տասը տարում Հայաստանը ոլորովին այլ երկիր է լինելու: «Հայաստանը Խորհրդային միության պարագաներում համարվում էր բավականաչափ զարգացած երկիր: Խորհրդային միության փլուզումից հետո այն բոլոր դժվարությունները, որ առկա էին նախկին միութենական հանրապետությունների առջև, առկա էին նաև Հայաստանում` գումարած ավերիչ երկրաշարժը, որը տեղի ունեցավ 1988-ին, ու շրջափակումը, դրանից Հայաստանի տնտեսությունը շատ տուժեց, տուժեց պատերազմից: Ուրախ եմ, որ հիմա, երբ համեմատվում են ԱՊՀ երկրների որոշակի ցուցանիշները, օրինակ, համախառն ներքին արդյունքը, միջին աշխատավարձը, նվազագույÕ ¶ աշխատավարձը, տնտեսական աճը, գնաճը և այլն, մենք գոնե կեսից ավելիից առաջ ենք, քան հետ: Ես սա համարում եմ ձեռքբերում»,-նշել է երկրի ղեկավարը:
Նրա դիտարկմամբ` Հայաստանը բավականաչափ հաջողություններ է արձանագրել ժողովրդավարության զարգացման, քաղաքացիական ինստիտուտների ամրապնդման գործում` այսօր ունենալով քաղաքացիական հասարակություն: «Ես համարում եմ, որ այսօր Հայաստանի մամուլն էապես տարբերվում է մամուլից, որ կար 5, 10 տարի առաջ: Ես համարում եմ, որ տնտեսական հարաբերությունները Հայաստանում բավականաչափ մոտ են Եվրոպական տնտեսական հարաբերություններին: Մենք վաղուց արդեն Առևտրի միջազգային կազմակերպության անդամ ենք, մենք Միջազգային ֆինասնական կորպորացիայի ու Համաշխարհային բանկի գնահատականներով` բիզնես վարելու առումով 189 երկրների շարքում գտնվում ենք 35-րդ տեղում` աջից Չեխիան է, ձախից` Ճապոնիան, դա շատ լավ հարևանություն է»-ընդգծել է նախագահը:
