Ես ցանկանում եմ, որ խաղաղություն տիրի Սիրիայում, սիրիացիները որոշեն` ով պետք է լինի իրենց ղեկավարը. ՀՀ Նախագահ

Հայաստանը պահպանում է հարաբերությունները Սիրիայի իշխանությունների հետ և համարում է դա ճիշտ: Այս մասին հայտարարել է ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը` արաբական «Ալ-Մայադին» հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում: «Մեր հարաբերությունները պահպանում ենք Սիրիայի իշխանությունների հետ և համարում ենք դա ճիշտ: Ով լինի Սիրիայում իշխանություն, մենք համագործակցելու ենք սիրիական իշխանությունների հետ: Հայ համայնքը գրեթե ամբողջությամբ դուրս է եղել Սիրիայից, սակայն այնտեղ դեռևս մի քանի հազար հայրենակիցներ ունենք, և մեզ համար չափազանց կարևոր է մեր պատմական ժառանգությունը: Ես միայն ցանկանում եմ, որ հնարավորինս կարճ ժամանակում խաղաղություն ու հանդարտություն տիրի Սիրիայում, ես ցանկանում եմ, որ սիրիացիները որոշեն, թե ով պետք է լինի իրենց ղեկավարը: Ցանկանում եմ, որ սիրիացիներն այսքան տանջանքից ու չարչարանքից հետո հնարավորություն ունենան եռանդով լծվելու երկրի վերականգնմանը: Ես բազմաթիվ անգամ եղել եմ Սիրիայում, տեսել եմ ծաղկուն քաղաքներ, և հիմա, երբ հեռուստատեսությամբ եմ տեսնում, զարմանում եմ, թե ինչի է ի վիճակի մարդակային ատելությունը»,- նշել է ՀՀ նախագահը:

Սիրիական պատերազմը սկսվել է 2011 թվականի մարտի 15-ին ու դեռ շարունակվումէ։ 2016 թվականի փետրվարի 27-ից հաստատվել է հրադադարի ռեժիմ, որին չենենթարկվում «Իսլամական պետություն», «Ալ Նուսրա» և այլ ահաբեկչականխմբավորումներ: Դրանք հիմնահատակ ավերել են սիրիական մի շարք քաղաքներ ու գյուղեր: Հալեպը գրեթե ամենօրյա ռմբակոծության է ենթարկվում:
