Աշխարհում կա նվազագույնը 1000 միլիարդատեր, որոնք տիրապետում են այնպիսի կարողության, որը չի էլ տեսել մեր մոլորակի բնակիչների մեծ մասը: Սակայն այն, որ նրանք հասել են նման ձեռքբերումների, չի նշանակում, թե ապահովագրված են ձախողումներից:

Մարտա Ստյուարտ
Նախկին մոդելը մեդիակայսրություն կառուցեց զրոյից: Նա բիզնեսի իսկական շնաձուկ է: Նա միլիարդատեր դարձավ բանտում, երբ նրա բաժնետոմսերը բարձրացան 90%-ով: 2005թ. նա 5 ամսով հայտնվեց ճաղերի հետևում ինսայդերական տեղեկության անօրինական օգտագործման համար: Միլիարդատիրոջ իր կարողությունը նա կորցրեց հաշված շաբաթների ընթացքում, երբ բաժնետոմսերի արժեքը նվազեց 40%-ով: Ներկայում նա հաջողակ գործարար է, սակայն նախկին հաջողությանը այդպես էլ չի հասել:

Ռոբերտ կամ Բոբ Ջոնսոնը առաջինն էր, ով գրանցվել էր որպես առաջին միլիարդատեր աֆրոամերիկացին: Նա BET մալուխային հեռուստաալիքի հիմնադիրն է:
Նա ամուսնալուծության հետևանքով զրկվեց իր 1,2 մլրդ դոլարից: Նա փորձեց փողերը հետ բերել 2007-ին, սակայն շուկայի փլուզումը, ամուսնալուծության հետևանքներն ու փոփոխվող գործարար միջավայրը նրան դարձրին միլիոնատեր:

Ֆրենկ Լևինսթոնը ներդրող է, գործարար, ինչպես նաև Small World Group-ի հիմնադիրը:
Թեև նա մինչ օրս միլիոնատեր է, սակայն հայտնվել է կարողությունը կորցրած միլիարդատերերի վարկանշային աղյուսակում:
Թոմաս Ֆրիդման
Թոմաս Ֆրիդմանը New York Times-ի հայտնի սյունակագիր է, ով իր միլիարդները ձեռք բերեց ոչ թե սեփական քրտինքով, այլ հաջող ամուսնությամբ: Նրա կինը՝ Էնն Բաքսբաումը General Growth Properties-ի՝ անշարժ գույքի հիմնադրամի ժառանգորդն է: General Growth Properties-ը արժեր 3,6 մլրդ դոլար, սակայն անշարժ գույքի շուկայի ճգնաժամից հետո դրա արժեքը նվազեց մոտ 25 մլն դոլարով:
Սանջիվ Սիդխու
Սանջիվ Սիդխուն ծագումով հնդիկ ամերիկացի ձեռնարկատեր է, o9 Solutions ընկերության ղեկավարն ու հիմնադիրը, որը զբաղվում է ծրագրային ապահովմամբ ու ֆինանսական բիզնես-պլանավորմամբ:
Նա իր կարողությունը ստեղծեց որպես որպես i2 Technologies-ի հիմնադիր: 2000 թվականին դրա բորսային արժեքը ավելացավ 850%-ով, իսկ Սանջիվի կարողությունը ավելացավ մինչև 10 մլրդ դոլարի:
Սակայն 2001-ին բաժնետոմսերի գինը նվազեց, ու նա կորցրեց 9 մլրդ դոլար:
