Մերձավորարեւելյան նավթից համաշխարհային կախվածությունն աճում Է, քանի որ արտահանողները չկարողացան համաձայնության հասնել ցածր գների ֆոնին հանույթի կրատման շուրջը: Financial Times-ի հետ զրույցի ժամանակ այս մասին հայտարարել Է Էներգետիկայի միջազգային գործակալության (ԷՄԳ) ղեկավար Ֆաթիհ Բիրոլը:
Նրա խոսքով՝ այժմ Սաուդյան Արաբիային եւ Իրաքին են պատկանում խոշորագույն բաժինները նավթի շուկայում: Դրանց մատակարարումների պահանջարկն աճում Է հումքի ցածր գների պատճառով՝ ԱՄՆ-ի, Կանադայի եւ Բրազիլիայի կողմից հանույթի կրճատման ֆոնի վրա:
«Մերձավոր Արեւելքը ներմուծման առաջին աղբյուրն Է: Որքան մեծ Է պահանջարկն, այնքան ավելի շատ ենք մենք (սպառող երկրները - խմբ.) հարկադրված ներմուծելու»,-ասել Է Ֆաթիհ Բիրոլը:
Մերձավոր Արեւելքի երկրներն այս պահին արտադրում են նավթի ամբողջ գլոբալ ծավալի 34 տոկոսն՝ ԷՄԳ-ի տվյալներով՝ արդյունահանելով օրական 31 միլիոն բարել նավթ: Դա ամենաբարձր ցուցանիշն Է 1975 թվականից ի վեր, երբ դրանց բաժին Էր ընկնում համաշխարհային հանույթի 36 տոկոսը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
