Բրիտանական հանրաքվեն, որում հաղթանակ տարան Եվրամիության կազմից Միացյալ Թագավորության դուրս գալու կողմնակիցները, երկրի շատ հպատակների հարկադրել Է մտածել նոր քաղաքացիության մասին: Ինչպես հուլիսի 1-ին հայտնել Է Deutsche Welle հեռուստառադիոհաղորդումների կորպորացիան, կիպրական արմատներ ունեցող հարյուրավոր բրիտանացիներ համապատասխան մի ջնորդություններով դիմում են Կիպրոսի Հանրապետության դիվանագիտական ներկայացուցչություններ:
Այսպես, կղզի պետության միգրացիոն դեպարտամենտում պաշտոնյաներն օրական մինչեւ 300 դիմում են ստանում: Պատճառները, որոնք մարդկանց ստիպում են անհանգստանալ, որպես կանոն, կապված են Եվրոպայում ազատ ուղեւորումներից զրկվելու կասկածների հետ՝ Եվրամիության կազմից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալու դեպքում:
Այսօրվա դրությամբ, նշել Է Deutsche Welle-ն, Միացյալ Թագավորությունում ապրում են Կիպրոսից հազարավոր սերածներ եւ նրանց զավակներ: Ընդհուպ մինչեւ 1960 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 1-ը Կիպրոսը եղել Է Բրիտանիայի գաղութը: 2004 թվականին հանրապետությունը մտել Է Եվրամիության կազմ, իսկ 2008 թվականին՝ եվրոյի գոտի, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
