Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ նախկին դեսպան Ջոն Էվանսը այս օրերին գտնվում է Արցախում: «Արցախպրես»-ը բացառիկ հնարավորություն է ունեցել պարոն Էվանսի հետ զրուցելու: Ստորև ներկայացնում ենք նրա հետ հարցազրույցը:

- Պարոն դեսպան, ինչպե ՞ս ստացվեց, որ այցելեցիք Արցախ:

- Ես այստեղ եմ Հայաստանի մանուկներ հիմնադրամի հիմնադիր խորհրդի ատենապետ, դոկտոր Կարո Արմենի հրավերով: Թեև թողել եմ դեսպանի պաշտոնը, սակայն չէի կարող մերժել Կարո Արմենի հրավերը` հատկապես, որ ապրիլյան պատերազմը իմ մեջ ցանկություն էր առաջացրել այցելել Արցախ և տեղում ծանոթանալ իրավիճակին և որոշել, թե ինչպես կարելի է հիմնադրամի ծրագրերը բերել ու իրականացնել այստեղ:

-                        Որպես ամերիկացի դիվանագետ՝ ի՞նչ եք կարծում ղարաբաղյանհիմնախնդրի շուրջ ընթացող բանակցային գործընթացի մասին:Ի՞նչ է անհրաժեշտ լուրջ առաջընթաց ունենալու համար:

- Ես ուղղակիորեն չեմ մասնակցում բանակցային գործընթացին, սակայն ուշադիր հետևում եմ: Մեծ հարգանք ունեմ պարոն Ուորլիքի նկատմամբ: Միշտ հետևում եմ բանակցություններին, որոնք վարում են իմ գործընկերները` այդ թվում նաև ՌԴ արտգործնախարար պարոն Լավրովը, ով միշտ շեշտում է, որ հիմնախնդիրը պետք է լուծվի խաղաղ ճանապարհով: Անձամբ ես այն կարծիքին եմ, որ Արցախի Հանրապետությունը պետք է արդեն բանակցային սեղանին շուրջ նստի` որպես անկախ պետություն և ներկայացնի իր շահերը: 1994 թվականին ստորագրված զինադադարի համաձայնագրի տակ Արցախը, որպես բանակցությունների լիարժեք կողմ, նույնպես դրել է իր ստորագրությունը:

Կարծում եմ՝ ճիշտ ժամանակն է, որ Արցախը նույն ձևաչափով կրկին միանա բանակցային գործընթացին և ունենա մասնակցության իր բաժինը: Միայն այդ պարագայում կապահովվեն առաջընթացի պայմաններ:

Ջոն Էվանսը Արցախում է Հայաստանի մանուկներ հիմնադրամի պատվիրակության աշխատանքային այցի շրջանակներում: Պատվիրակության անդամներինընդունել են Արցախի Հանրապետության նախագահ Բակո Սահակյանը, վարչապետ Արայիկ Հարությունյանը:
