Տարեկան շուրջ 6,5 միլիոն մարդ Է մահանում օդի աղտոտման հետեւանքների հետ կապված հիվանդություններից: Այս մասին ասված Է Էներգետիկայի միջազգային գործակալության (ԷՄԳ)՝ հունիսի 27-ին հրապարակված զեկույցում:
ԷՄԳ-ի տվյալներով՝օդի աղտոտումը մարդու հիվանդությունների հիմնական պատճառներից մեկն Է: Այս առնչությամբ տակավին 1973 թվականին ստեղծված գործակալությունը մտադիր Է ընդլայնել իր առաքելությունը: «Կլիմայի փոփոխման հետ կապված հրատապ հիմնախնդիրներն, ինչպես նաեւ նոր երկրների, այդ թվում՝ Էներգիայի եւ օդի աղտոտման աղբյուրների հիմնական սպառողների թվում Չինաստանի եւ Հնդկաստանի հայտնվելը պահանջում են ԷՄԳ-ի գործունեության ռազմավարության վերանայում»,- նշված Է զեկույցում:
The New York Times թերթում հրապարակված հարցազրույցում ԷՄԳ-ի գործադիր տնօրեն Ֆաթիհ Բիրոլը հայտարարել Է. «Մենք պետք Է պատասխանենք այսօրվա մարտահրավերներին, դա նշանակում Է, որ մենք պետք Է ավելի սերտորեն աշխատենք Էներգետիկայի եւ տնտեսության նոր զարգացող ճյուղերի հետ»: Նրա խոսքով՝գործակալությունը մտադիր Է ամենից առաջ ավելի ակտիվ հարաբերություններ հաստատել Չինաստանի հետ, ինչը պետք Է «վճռական նշանակություն ունենա արտանետումների կրճատման համաշխարհային ջանքերի հաջողության համար», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
