«Հայաստանին ու հայ հասարակությանը երկար ժամանակ էր պետք դուրս գալու համար Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս պապի այցի ոգեղենությունից, էներգետիկայից, երեք օր այլ Հայաստանում ապրելու զգացողությունից: Ծրագրավորվա՞ծ, թե՞ ոչ, բայց իշխանությունը լուծել էր այդ խնդիրը՝ հասարակությանն ավելորդ սթրեսի չենթարկելու ու հանկարծ իրականությունից՝ չափից ու թույլատրելիից ավելի չկտրվելու համար: Իշխանությունը դիմեց շոկային թերապիայի. երեկ Ռադիկ Մարտիրոսյանը վերընտրվեց Գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի նախագահի պաշտոնում:

Վերընտրվեց, որպեսզի հասարակությունը վերադառնա այն Հայաստան, որում է՛ր մինչև Հռոմի պապի այցելությունը: Իշխանությունը վերընտրեցրեց Ռադիկ Մարտիրոսյանին, որպեսզի հասարակությունն իրեն զգա ոչ թե Հռոմի պապի այցելած՝ առաջինը քրիստոնեությունը որպես պետական կրոն ընդունած պետության, այլ՝ որպես քոսոտ երկրի քաղաքացի, ինչպիսին որ Հայաստանը որակել էր ԳԱԱ նախկին ու նորընտիր նախագահը:

Կարելի է երկար թվարկել բոլոր վնասները, որոնք Հայաստանի գիտությանը պատճառվել են Ռադիկ Մարտիրոսյանի նախագահության տարիներին ու դրա պատճառով, կարելի է հարյուրավոր էջեր գրել այն մասին, թե ինչպես ու որքանով է խոչընդոտել մտածողությամբ, տեսակով ու արժեհամակարգով խորհրդային այս գործիչը ժամանակակից հայ գիտության զարգացմանը, կարելի է թվարկել բոլոր այն նշանավոր հայ գիտնականների անունները, ովքեր նաև Ռադիկ Մարտիրոսյանի պատճառով այսօր աշխատում են աշխարհի ամենահեղինակավոր գիտական հաստատություններում: Բայց այդ թվարկումներն ու հիշատակումներն առոչինչ են դառնում այն մթնոլորտում, որն ընդամենը նախօրեին տիրում էր Հայաստանում»,-գրում է թերթը:
