Լսելով ՀՀ նախագահի ելույթի տոնը, տարօրինակ կլիներ գոնե նույնը չասելը. Հռոմի Պապը՝ «Ցեղասպանություն» բառն ասելու մասին

Այո, ես իմ ելույթում ավելացրի «Ցեղասպանություն» բառը. լսելով ՀՀ նախագահի ելույթի տոնը, հիշելով, որ ես անցյալ տարի հրապարակավ ասել եմ այդ  բառը՝ տարօրինակ կլիներ գոնե նույնը չասել: Այս մասին նախօրեին, Հայաստանից Հռոմ մեկնելիս՝ օդանավում լրագրողներին տված հարցազրույցի ժամանակ, ասել է Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապը՝ անդրադառնալով ՀՀ նախագահի նստավայրում իր խոսքում «ցեղասպանություն» բառն արտասանելուն:

France-Presse-ի լրագրողի հարցին, թե ինչո՞ւ որոշեցիք ավելացնել  «ցեղասպանություն» բառը նախագահական նստավայրում հնչած ձեր ելույթում, Հռոմի Պապը պատասխանել է. «Արգենտինայում, երբ խոսում են հայերի բնաջնջման մասին, միշտ օգտագործում են «ցեղասպանություն» բառը։ Բուենոս Այրեսի տաճարում տեղադրել ենք խաչքար՝ նվիրված Հայոց ցեղասպանությանը։ Երկու հայ արքեպիսկոպոսներ՝ կաթոլիկ եւ առաքելական, եկան եւ հանդիսավոր կերպով բացեցին այն։ Եվ ես երբեք այլ բառ չեմ իմացել։ Երբ եկա Հռոմ, լսեցի «Մեծ եղեռն» կամ «սարսափելի ողբերգություն», բայց ես չգիտեի ինչպես դա ասել հայերեն։

Ես միշտ խոսել եմ անցյալ դարում կատարված երեք ցեղասպանությունների մասին։ Միշտ երեքի մասին էլ ասել եմ։ Առաջինը հայերին էր, հետո՝ Հիտլերի կատարածը, եւ վերջինը՝ Ստալինինը։ Կան նաեւ ավելի փոքր մասշտաբ ունեցողները Աֆրիկայում, բայց երկու համաշխարհային պատերազմների շրջանում այս երեքն էին։ Ես հարցրել եմ՝ ինչո՞ւ։ Ոմանք ասում են՝ «դա ճիշտ չէ, ցեղասպանություն չի եղել», մի փաստաբան էլ ինձ ասաց, որ «ցեղասպանությունը» «բնաջնջման» հոմանիշ չէ։ Դու կարող ես ասել բնաջնջում, բայց «ցեղասպանություն» հայտարարելը հանգեցնում է փոխհատուցման:

Այո, իմ այս ելույթում այդ բառը չկար։ Ես ավելացրեցի այն։ Լսելով նախագահի ելույթի հնչերանգը, հիշելով, որ ես անցյալ տարի հրապարակավ ասել եմ այդ բառը՝ տարօրինակ կլիներ գոնե նույնը չասել։  Բայց իմ խոսքում ես մեկ այլ բան էի ցանկանում ընդգծել եւ չեմ կարծում, որ սխալվել եմ՝ եւ այս, եւ մյուս ցեղասպանություններում, միջազգային ազդեցիկ ուժերը այլ ուղղությամբ են նայում։ Եվ սա է կարեւորը։ Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի ժամանակ կային ուժեր, որոնք լուսանկարել են այն գնացքների ուղիները, որոնք տանում են Օսվենցիմի համակենտրոնացման ճամբար եւ ունեցել են հնարավորություն պայթեցնելու դրանք, բայց չեն արել։

Ինչ-որ մեկը պետք է շեշտադրի սա եւ պատմական հարց հնչեցնի՝ «Ինչու՞ դուք՝ իշխանավորներ, չեք արել դա։Ես չեմ մեղադրում, ես հարց եմ տալիս։ Նրանք պարզապես դիտել են պատերազմը, իրերին, բայց ոչ մարդկանց։ Ես չգիտեմ՝ արդյոք ճիշտ է, բայց ես կցանկանայի իմանալ, որ երբ Հիտլերը  հալածում էր հրեաներին, նա ասել է. «Ո՞վ է այսօր հիշում հայերին։ Եկեք նույնը անենք հրեաների հետ»։  Պատմաբաննե՛ր, փնտրեք եւ գտեք ճշմարտությունը։ Բայց ես երբեք այս բառը չեմ ասել վիրավորելու համար, այլ օբյեկտիվորեն»:
