 Բելգրադից Նյու Յորք Է ուղեւորվել սերբական «Էյր Սերբիա» ավիաընկերության առաջին չվերթը: Այսպիսով Սերբիան 24 տարի անց վերսկսել Է ուղղակի ավիահաղորդակցությունն ԱՄՆ-ի հետ:

«Դա երազանքի իրականացումն Է, իսկ մենք մարդկանց խոստացել Էինք, որ դա կանենք, թեեւ գիտեինք, որ դժվար Է լինելու, հարկավոր կլինի անցնել բոլոր ստուգումները, եւ օդանավակայանն ինքը պետք Է շատ բան աներ»,-օդանավակայանում կայացած հանդիսավոր արարողությանը հայտարարել Է Սերբիայի վարչապետ Ալեքսանդար Վուչիչը՝ ավիաընկերության տնօրեն Դանե Կոնդիչի եւ Բելգրադում ԱՄՆ-ի դեսպան Քայլ Սքոթի հետ միասին կտրելով կարմիր ժապավենը:

Վուչիչն ափսոսանք Է հայտնել, որ անձամբ չի կարողանա թռչել առաջին չվերթով, քանի որ շարունակվում Է Սերբիայի կառավարության ձեւավորման գործընթացը, որը պետք Է հնարավորինս շուտ ավարտել:

Առաջին չվերթի 254 ուղեւորների թվում եղել են Սերբիայում հայտնի մարդիկ՝ քաղաքականության, սպորտի, արվեստի եւ նորաձեւության ոլորների ներկայացուցիչներ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը:
