Հռոմի Սրբազան Քահանայապետ Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապը հանդես է եկել հայտարարությամբ, որտեղ նա նշել է , որ գալիս է դեպի Հայաստանի առեղծվածային բարձունքները որպես եղբայր, մղված ձեր դեմքերը տեսնելու ցանկությունից, աղոթելու ձեր հետ և կիսելու բարեկամության պարգևը:

Ուղերձում, մասնավորապես, նշվում է.« Սիրելի եղբայրներ և քույրեր, մի քանի օր անց ես մեծ ուրախությամբ կլինեմ ձեր մեջ, Հայաստանում: Այս պահից արդեն հրավիրում եմ ձեզ աղոթելու այս առաքելական ճանապարհորդության համար:

Աստծո օգնությամբ գալիս եմ ձեր մոտ, իրականացնելու համար ինչպես ճանապարհորդության կարգախոսն է դա ասում «այց առաջին քրիստոնյա երկիր»: Եվ գալիս եմ որպես ուխտագնաց, այս հոբելյանական տարում թաթախվելու ձեր ժողովրդի հնագույն իմաստության մեջ և ըմպելու ձեր ժայռե` ինչպես ձեր հայտնի փորագիր խաչքարերն են, հավատքի աղբյուրից:

Գալիս եմ դեպի Հայաստանի առեղծվածային բարձունքները որպես եղբայր՝ մղված ձեր դեմքերը տեսնելու ցանկությունից, աղոթելու ձեր հետ և կիսելու բարեկամության պարգևը: Ձեր պատմությունը և ձեր սիրելի ժողովրդի հետ կատարված իրադարձությունները առաջացնում են իմ մեջ հիացմունք և վիշտ:

Հիացմունք, քանի որ Հիսուսի խաչի ու ձեր տաղանդավոր մտքի մեջ եք գտել կրկին ոտքի կանգնելու ուժը՝ նույնիսկ ամենասարսափելի տառապանքներից հետո, որ պատմությունը կարող է հիշել: Վիշտ` այն ողբերգությունների համար, որոնք ձեր հայրերը կրել են իրենց մաշկի վրա: Թույլ չտանք ցավոտ հիշողություններին տիրանալու մեր սրտին: Նույնիսկ չարի շարունակական հարձակումներին չհանձնվենք: Գործենք ինչպես Նոյը, ով ջրհեղեղից հետո չհոգնեց դեպի երկինք հայացք նետելուց և մի քանի անգամ աղավնի ուղարկեց, մինչև որ նա չվերադարձավ ձիթապտղի մատղաշ տերևով: Դա նշան էր, որ կյանքը կարելի էր վերսկսել և հույսը պետք է հարություն առներ:

Որպես Ավետարանի ծառա և խաղաղության սուրհանդակ ցանկանում եմ գալ ձեր մեջ նեցուկ կանգնելու խաղաղության ճանապարհին գործադրած յուրաքանչյուր ջանքին և միասին քայլելու հաշտության արահետով, որը հույս է ծնում: Թող որ ձեր ժողովրդի մեծանուն սրբերը` մասնավորապես Եկեղեցու վարդապետ Գրիգոր Նարեկացին, օրհնեն մեր հանդիպումները, որոնց սպասում եմ վառ ցանկությամբ: Հատկապես, սպասում եմ իմ եղբայր Գարեգինին կրկին գրկելու և նրա հետ միասին նոր թափ հաղորդելու դեպի լիակատար միություն տանող ուղուն: Անցյալ տարի Հռոմ էիք եկել աշխարհի տարբեր երկրներից և Սուրբ Պետրոսի շիրմաքարի մոտ բոլորս միասին աղոթեցինք: Հիմա ինքս եմ գալիս ձեր օրհնյալ երկիր մեր հաղորդությունը ամրապնդելու, հաշտեցման ուղով առաջ շարժվելու և մեզ հույսով քաջալերելու համար»:
