Աթեշյանը չի գա Հայաստան Հռոմի պապի այցի ժամանակ տհաճ երևույթներից խուսափելու նպատակով

Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքական փոխանորդ Արամ արքեպիսկոպոս Աթեշյանը վերադարձել է Ստամբուլ. պատրիարքական փոխանորդը չեղյալ է համարել նախապես ծրագրած այցը Հայաստան` հաշվի անելով իր իսկ անվան շուրջ ստեղծված բացասական տրամադրվածությունը:
Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին գրում է Ստամբուլի հայկական «Ժամանակ» պարբերականը: Արամ Աթեշյանը հունիսի 15-ին մեկնել էր Ռուսաստան: Պատրիարքարանի կայքում հրապարակված տեղեկատվության մեջ նշվում էր, որ Ռուսաստանից արքեպիսկոպոսն այցելելու է Հայաստան` մասնակցելու Հռոմի Սրբազան քահանայապետ Ֆրանցիսկոս պապի այցի ծրագրերին:
Սակայն Գերմանիայի Բունդեսթագի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման փաստի առնչությամբ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանին Աթեշյանի գրած նամակի հետ կապված բողոքի լայն ալիք էր բարձրացել ինչպես Թուրքիայի, այնպես էլ Հայաստանի ու սփյուռքի հայության շրջանում: Հայաստանում սկսվել էր մի նախաձեռնություն, որի անդամները դեմ էին Աթեշյանի հայաստանյան այցին:
«Ժամանակ»-ը գրում է, որ հաշվի առնելով այս տրամադրությունները` Աթեշյանը որոշում է կայացրել չեղյալ համարել այցը Հայաստան` խուսափելու համար Հռոմի պապի այցի օրերին հնարավոր տհաճ երևույթներից:
