Հայոց եկեղեցու շնորհիվ է, որ Հայաստանն առայսօր ճանաչելի է աշխարհում

Նազենի Հովհաննիսյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.
Այո, Հայաստանը քրիստոնեությունն առաջինն է ընդունել, տարածել ու զարգացրել է՝ իր հետքը թողնելով ԱՄԵՆՈՒՐ ու հենց Հայոց եկեղեցու շնորհիվ է, որ առայսօր ճանաչելի է աշխարհում։ Սինգապուրն իր կարճ գոյության ընթացքում՝ դառնալով աշխարհի ԱՌԱՋԱՏԱՐ պետություններից մեկը, իր առաջնորդի ՝ Լի Սյան Լունի անմարդկային նվիրումի շնորհիվ,( որի մասին ընթացիկ սեղմ կփորձեմ դեռ պատմել), սովորական ճամփորդի համար շատ հետաքրքիր մի աշխարհ է բացահայտում, բայց Հայի համար Սինգապուրյան առաջին ողջույնն իհարկե Հայոց եկեղեցու այցելությունից է սկսվում։
1820-ականներից է առաջին հայ վաճառականը եկել Սինգապուր։ Ասում են, որ 1834-ին հայկական գաղութը մեծ չէր, մոտ 50 հոգի( թիվը հստակ չէ) և հենց այդ ժամանակ հատկացվում է մի տարածք( «ի հարգանք հայերի հոգևոր ու քաղաքացիական արժեքների».-ինչպես նշվել էր 1836թ-ի The Free Press- ում, ըստ որի «բացառիկ հոգևոր ուժը միայն կարող էր համախմբել 44 հոգանոց սակավաթիվ համայնքին, որ ստեղծեն այսպիսի կարևոր ու գեղեցիկ կառույց», որն ի դեպ, ՆԵՐԿԱՅՈՒՄՍ պատկանում է Սինգապուրին ( ոչ հայերին) և նրա հոգածության ներքո է՝ իբրև պատմամշակութային արժեք։
Այսպիսով,Եկեղեցին կառուցվեց 1835թ- ին, գումարի մի մասը հանգանակել էր տեղի հայությունը, մյուս՝ պակասող մասը, Հնդկաստանի և Յավայի հայությունը։ 1836 թ- ին այն օծվել է՝ ի պատիվ Սբ. Գրիգոր Լուսավորչի։
