«Հունվարյան սառնամանիքին, երբ տեղացած ձյան պատճառով Երևանի փողոցներն անանցանելի Էին դարձել, կրթության և գիտության նախարար Արմեն Աշոտյանն ընկել Էր սառույցի վրա և կոտրել ոտքը։ Որջ մամուլն այն օրերին հեղեղվեց այդ պատահարի մասին լուրերով, գրվեց նաև, որ նա վիրահատվել Է «Նաիրի» բժշկական կենտրոնում։ Ինչ-որ ժամանակ նա աշխատում Էր տնից, ապա ձեռնափայտով Էր դուրս գալիս։ Երբ եկել Է երկաթները հանելու ժամանակը, պարզվել Է, որ ոտքը սխալ Է կպել, և նոր վիրահատության կարիք կա։ Բնականաբար, ՀՀԿ փոխնախագահի «աչքը վախեցած» Է, և նա որոշել Է այս անգամ չվստահել իր հայ կոլեգաներին ու մեկնել Է արտերկիր։ Մեր տեղեկություններով՝ Աշոտյանը Բելգիայում վիրահատության Է ենթարկվել։
Փորձեցինք այս տեղեկությունը ճշտել հենց իրենից։ Նախկին նախարարը դեմ Էր իր ոտքը կրկին «նյուզմեյքեր» դարձնելուն և հիշեցրեց, որ առողջական հարցերը բժշկական գաղտնիք են ենթադրում և անձնական կյանքի անձեռնմխելիություն։ Բայց հաստատեց, որ այժմ գտնվում Է արտերկրում՝ Բելգիայում, արձակուրդն Է վայելում, մեկ շաբաթից կվերադառնա և անպայման ցույց կտա ոտքը։ Հետաքրքրվեցինք, թե ինչպես Է պատժելու ոտքը սխալ բուժած բժշկին, միգուցե ՀՀԿ դպրո՞ց Է ընդունելու, ինչին նա արձագանքեց. «Դպրոց ընդունվելը տենց հեշտ չի լինելու»։ Մենք Էլ հիշեցնենք պարոն Աշոտյանին, որ ինքը հանրային անձ Է, ՀՀԿ-ի՝ իշխող կուսակցության ղեկավար դեմքերից մեկը, և իր կյանքին առնչվող իրադարձությունները կարող են լինել հրապարակման առարկա՝ որքան էլ որ դա նրան հաճելի չլինի։ Թեև չենք կարծում, որ բուժման մեջ որևէ արատավոր բան կա, և մենք անձնական կյանքի տիրույթ ենք ներխուժել»»,–գրում է թերթը։
