Հունաստանի արտգործնախարար Նիկոս Կոտզիասը հայտարարել է, որ Թուրքիան դեռևս չի գտնվում 21-րդ դարում և քաղաքակրթության ժամանակակից մակարդակի չի հասել, ինչի մասին, նրա կարծիքով, վկայում է Ստամբուլի Սուրբ Սոֆիայի տաճարում Ղուրան ընթերցելու մասին որոշումը: Այս մասին հաղորդում է РИА Новости-ն:
Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի որոշմամբ` ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ի համաշխարհային ժառանգության հուշակոթող հանդիսացող Սուրբ Սոֆիայի տաճարում հունիսի սկզբից` Ռամադանի մեկնարկին զուգահեռ, Ղուրանի ընթերցանություն է տեղի ունենում, իսկ ընթերցանությունը հեռարձակում են պետական հեռուստատեսությամբ:
Այս որոշումը կտրուկ արձագանքի է արժանացել Հունաստանում: Երկրի ԱԳՆ-ն հանդես է եկել հայտարարությամբ, որի համաձայն` Թուրքիան 100 տարի հետ է գլորվել: Հույն նախարարը ուշադրություն է հրավիրել նաև ԱՄՆ Պետդեպի արած հայտարարությանը` կապված Թուրքիայի գործողությունների հետ, որով կոչ էր արվում հարգել պատմամշակութային ժառանգությունը:
Բյուզանդիայի «ոսկեդարի» խորհրդանիշ հանդիսացող Սուրբ Սոֆիայի տաճարը օսմանցի թուրքերի կողմից Բյուզանդիայի մայրաքաղաքի գրավումից հետո ծառայել է որպես մզկիթ, իսկ 1934 թվականից թանգարան է:
