Ահաբեկչական «Իսլամական պետություն» խմբավորումը պատասխանատվություն է ստանձնել Սիրիայի մայրաքաղաք Դամասկոսի մզկիթի մոտակայքում ականապատ մեքենայի պայթյունի համար: Սիրիայում մարդու իրավունքների վերահսկողության խորհրդի իրավապաշտպանների տվյալներով, պայթյունի հետեւանքով 20 մարդ է զոհվել, իշխանությունների պաշտոնական տվյալներով` կրկնակի պակաս:
Կիրակի երկու պայթյուն է որոտացել քաղաքի հարավային ծայրամասում Սեիդ Զեյնաբ շիա թաղամասում: Առաջին պայթյունը թաղամաս մուտքի մոտ կազմակերպել է մահապարտ-ահաբեկիչը, իսկ երկրորդից հետո փողոցներից մեկում օդ է բարձրացել պայթուցիկով լցոնված մեքենան, հայտնում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստին»:
Reuters-ը նշում է, որ սա այս տարվա ընթացքում ԻՊ-ի արդեն երրորդ գրոհն է այդ թաղամասում, որը շրջապատում է շիա գլխավոր սրբավայրերից մեկը:
Այս ահաբեկչության համար ԻՊ-ի պատասխանատվության մասին հայտնել է Al-Arabiya ալիքը` վկայակոչելով արմատականների տեղեկատվական աղբյուրներին: ԻՊ-ը պնդում է, որ մզկիթի մոտ երկու մահապարտ է պայթել, իսկ հետո` պայթուցիկով մեքենան: Reuters-ը պարզաբանում է, որ ԻՊ-ի արմատական սուննիները իսլամի շիա ուղղությունը հերձվածողական են համարում:
Դամասկոսից բժիշկների տվյալներով, ահաբեկչության հետեւանքով մոտ 50 մարդ վնասվածք է ստացել:
Միաժամանակ Մարդու իրավունքների վերահսկողության խորհուրդը ենթադրում է, որ զոհերի թիվը մեծանում է այն բանի հետ կապված, որ շատ տուժածներ հիվանդանոց են տեղափոխվել ծանր վիճակում: Իրավապաշտպանների տվյալներով, ահաբեկչական գործողության զոհերի թվում 13 խաղաղ բնակիչ կա եւ կառավարությանն աջակցող զինված խմբավորումների վեց մարտիկ:
