Հնդկաստանի գեոֆիզիկոսներն ու հնագետները ապացույցներ են ներկայացրել, որ Հնդկական քաղաքակրթությունը կարող է լինել աշխարհում ամենահինը, հայտնում է Daily Mail-ը:

Գիտնականների նոր աշխատատության  համաձայն՝ Հնդկական քաղաքակրթությունը ծագել է ոչ թե 5.5 հազար տարի առաջ, ինչպես համարվում էր, այլ 2.5 հազար տարի ավելի շուտ: Եթե այս վարկածը հաստատվի, Հնդկական քաղաքակրթությունը կհամարվի ավելի հին, քան Միջագետքի եւ Հին Եգիպտոսի պետությունները:

Գիտնականները ռադիոածխաջրածնային եւ օպտիկական թվագրման են ենթարկել Հնդկաստանի Ֆաթեհաբեդի շրջանում հայտնաբերված  քաղաքակրթական հնագիտական գնատոծները: Մասնագետները պատրաստվում են վերստուգել իրենց տվյալները:

Գիտնականները նաեւ նկատել են կլիմայի տատանումներից կախված մշակութային մակարդակների փոփոխությունները: Դա թույլ է տվել ենթադրել, որ քաղաքակրթության անկումն անմիջականորեն պայմանավորված է կլիմայի փոփոխությամբ: Եթե ի սկզբանե Հնդկական քաղաքակրթությունը ինտենսիվ օգտագործում էր խոշոր հատիկավոր հացաբույսեր՝ ցորեն, գարի, ապա երաշտի վրա հասնելուն պես փոխել էր գյուղատնտեսական ռազմավարությունը եւ սկսել էր չորադիմացկուն բրինձ ու կորեկ աճեցնել: Գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ դա հանգեցրել է ապաուրբանիզացման՝ քաղաքների անկման եւ գյուղական բնակչության աճի:

Հնդկական քաղաքակրթությունը ձեւավորվել էր Ինդոս եւ Գանգես գետերի հովտում:
