«Ժողովուրդ»-ին հասած տեղեկություններով՝ Անի Մաջնունյանի սպանության մեջ կասկածվող Մուշեղ Մխիթարյանը, մինչ Անիի բնակարան բարձրանալը եւ սպանելը, շենքի բակում շանտաժի է ենթարկել իր ծանոթուհուն: Նախ հիշեցնենք, որ օգոստոսի 5-ի «6-րդ զգայարան» հաղորդման էքստրասենս Անի Մաջնունյանին սպանելու կասկածանքով երկու հոգին էին ձերբակալվել՝ «Յոնուս» թատրոնի տնօրեն Մուշեղ Մխիթարյանը եւ նրան ծանոթ մի աղջիկ:

Ըստ տեղեկությունների՝ Մուշեղն իմացել է, որ Անին գումար ունի իր մոտ եւ այն վերցնելու նպատակով իր ծանոթուհու հետ գնացել է Անի Մաջնունյանի տուն:

Սակայն «Ժողովուրդ»-ի լավատեղյակ աղբյուրների փոխանցմամբ՝ Մուշեղն իր ծանոթուհուն համոզել է, որ իր հետ բարձրանա Անի Մաջնունյանի բնակարան, եւ միասին նրանից վերցնեն գումարը, սակայն աղջիկը չի ցանկացել բարձրանալ, Մուշեղը շենքի բակում սկսել է շանտաժի ենթարկել իր ծանոթուհուն, թե պիտի գաս, թե չէ… Սակայն աղջիկը հրաժարվել է, եւ վերջինները որոշել են, որ Մուշեղը միայնակ կբարձրանա, իսկ նրա ծանոթուհին շենքի բակում կսպասի: Այդպես էլ եղել է: Բայց երբ Մուշեղի ծանոթուհին տեսել է, որ նա շատ է ուշանում, բարձրացել է Անիի բնակարան եւ ականատես եղել մի տեսարանի, թե ինչպես է Անի Մաջնունյանը գետնին ընկած խռխռում, իսկ Մուշեղը, ըստ էության, գումարն ու ոսկեղենն է փնտրում»:
