Գերմանիայի Բունդեսթագի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչող բանաձևի ընդունումից անմիջապես հետո Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսը նամակ է հղել Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելին` ողջունելով պատմական նշանակություն ունեցող այդ քաջ քայլը: Ինչպես տեղեկացրին Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո կաթողիկոսարանի մամլո դիվանից, Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսը բանաձևի ընդունումը որակել է որպես «մարդու իրավունքների նկատմամբ Գերմանիային հանձնառության պերճախոս վկայություն, ինչպես նաև աշխարհին ուղղված պատգամ, որը հիշեցնում է անցյալին մոտենալ պատասխանատու կերպով»:
Վեհափառ Հայրապետը հիշեցրել է, որ Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո կաթողիկոսությունը ևս զոհ է Օսմանյան կայսրության կողմից հայ ժողովրդի դեմ իրականացրած ցեղասպանության և ներկայացրել է, թե ինչպես իր նախորդները թուրքական իշխանության կողմից պարտադրված հեռացել են ավելի քան 700 տարվա պատմություն ունեցող և Սիսի մեջ հաստատված Հայ եկեղեցու կաթողիկոսարանից:
