Ծխախոտի տուփերի ստանդարտացումը կնպաստի ծխողների թվի նվազմանը: Այս մասին մայիսի 31-ին Գյումրու «Բժշկական կենտրոն»-ում անցկացված «Ծխել թե՞...» նախաձեռնության շրջանակներում նշեց բժիշկ-սրտաբան Տաթևիկ Մանուկյանը՝ փաստելով, որ ծխախոտային արտադրանքի պարզ փաթեթավորումը և պիտակավորումը իր ազդեցությունը կունենա հատկապես երիտասարդերի շրջանում: Ինչպես նշում է«Արմենպրես»-ը, շատ եվրոպական երկրներ ծխախոտի տուփերի վրա տեղադրում են ոչ միայն ծխախոտի՝ մարդու առողջության վրա ազդեցության մասին գրություն, այլ նաև նկարներ և կոչեր: «Ծխախոտի տուփերի ու փաթեթավորման ստանդարտացումը ու պարզեցումը, ինչի շնորհիվ ոչ գրավիչ է դառնում ծխախոտը, արդեն իսկ իր ազդեցությունն ունի շատ երկրներում: Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը, Ծխախոտի դեմ շրջանակային կոնվենցիան կոչ են անում երկրներին մշակել ծխախոտային արտադրանքի պարզ փաթ եթավորում և պիտակավորում:
Քանի որ Հայաստանը փորձում է ինտեգրվել եվրոպական չափորոշիչներին, իսկ ծխողների տոկոսը բավական մեծ է, այս տարբերակը, որ արդեն կիրառվում է շատ երկրներում բավական արդյունավետ կլինի հատկապես դեռահասների շրջանում: Երբ դեռահասը տեսնում է ծխախոտի ոչ այնքան գրավիչ, սովորական տուփ, որի վրա նկարված կլինեն ծխելու վնասները՝ աչքերի, թոքերի հետ կապված և այլն, ծխելը ոչ այնքան «գրավիչ» կդառնա: Ճիշտ է, ստանդարտացումը կվնասի ծխախոտի արդյունաբերությանը, բայց սերունդների առողջությունը առավել քան կարևոր է»,-նշեց Տաթևի Մանուկյանը՝ փաստելով, որ այն երկրներում որտեղ արդեն անցում է կատարվել ծխախոտների փաթեթավորման ու տուփերի ստանդարացման, դեռահասների 26-45 տոկոսը կա՛մ չի ծխում, կա՛մ թողնում է ծխելը: «Ուսումնասիրություններն անցկացվել են հիմնականում դպրոցներում մոտ 500 հազար դեռահասի շրջանում, իսկ նրանց մեջ 45 տոկոսն արդեն իսկ մեծ թիվ է կազմում, ինչն էլ խոսում է նախաձեռության արդյունավետության մասին»,-հավելեց բժիշկ-սրտաբան Տաթևիկ Մանուկյանը:
1987 թվականից ամեն տարի մայիսի 31-ն ամբողջ աշխարհում նշվում է որպես ծխելու դեմ պայքարի համաշխարհային օր։ Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը հաստատել է այն որպես «Առանց ծխախոտի» օր:
