Ուսումնասիրությունները ցույց են տալիս, որ այս որակը տղամարդկանց համար ամենևին գրավիչ չէ: ԱՄՆ-ում անցկացրած հարցումները ցույց են տվել, որ տղամարդկանց համար կանանց մեջ 10 ամենավանող որակներից մեկը հենց «ինտրիգներ հյուսելը, չարությամբ քննադատելը, սկանդալներ սարքելը և այլ կանանց հասցեին գարշելի բաներ ասելն» է: Եվ հակառակը՝ մասնակիցները կանանց ամենաարժեքավոր որակների մեջ նշել են բարությունը, խելքը, ուրախ բնավորությունը, ներելու և փոխզիջումների գնալու ունակությունը:

Ինչպես պնդում են հոգեբանները, տղամարդիկ կանանց հետ հարաբերություններում երկու հիմնական պահանջ ունեն. առաջինը՝ լինել անհրաժեշտ, երկրորդը՝ լինել ազատ: Անհրաժեշտ լինելու զգացողության հետ մեկտեղ, տղամարդկանց պետք է նաև սեփական աշխարհ, երբեմն սիրելի զբաղմունքով զբաղվելու հնարավորություն: Տղամարդկանց ազատության պահանջը չընդունելու ցանկությունը և նրա յուրաքանչյուր քայլը վերահսկելու ձգտումը կարող են հարաբերությունները սրընթաց կերպով տանել խզման:

Ագահություն

Նույնիսկ ամենաշռայլ և ուշադիր տղամարդուն կարող է խելագարության հասցնել կանացի ագահությունն ու անշնորհակալությունը: Անընդհատ իր ընտրյալից պահանջելով իրականացնել իր բոլոր քմահաճույքները՝ անհագ կինը ռիսկի է դիմում մի գեղեցիկ օր հայտնվել հայտնի հերոսու դերում՝ միայնակ մնալով «կոտրած տաշտակի» առջև:

Սիրահարված կանանց մշտական սխալը՝ հրաժարվել նախկին կյանքից և սեփական հետաքրքրություններից՝ հօգուտ սիրեցյալի: Տղամարդուն դարձնելով իրենց տիեզերքի կենտրոնը՝ նա հրաժարվում է իր հոբբիներից, սահմանափակում է ընկերուհիների հետ շփումը, ցանկանում է իր ողջ ժամանակն անցկացնել սիրելիի հետ և նույն բանը սպասում է նրանից՝ համառորեն պահանջելով ուշադրություն, հաճելի բառեր, խոստովանություններ և հաճախակի հանդիպումներ: Պատահում է, իհարկե, որ սիրահարվածության նման էյֆորիան պատում է երկուսին, և այդ ժամանակ մնացյալ աշխարհը դադարում է գոյություն ունենալ նրանց համար: Սակայն ավելի հաճախ նման կպչունությունը տղամարդկանց ուղղակի վախեցնում է: Նրանց ավելի հետաքրքիր է լինել մի կնոջ կողքին, ով ապրում է լիարժեք կյանքով և չի փորձում իր ընտրյալին դնել պատվանդանին:
