Բրեդ Շերմանը ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարին հորդորել է «Լեհիի օրենքով» հետաքննություն իրականացնել Ադրբեջանի դեմ

ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի անդամ Բրեդ Շերմանը ԱՄՆ պետդեպարտամենտին կոչ է արել «Լեհիի օրենքով» հետաքննություն սկսել Ադրբեջանի նկատմամբ, որն ապրիլի 2-7-ը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի դեմ իրականացրած հարձակումների ժամանակ պատերազմական հանցագործություն է իրականացրել: Ինչպես տեղեկացրին Հայ դատի Ա ՄՆ հանձնախմբից, Շերմանը հորդորել է անմիջապես դադարեցնել Բաքվին տրամադրվող ռազմական օգնությունը` հաշվի առնելով Արցախի դեմ Ալիևի վարչակարգի կողմից իրականացվող հարձակումները:
«Ալիևի կառավարությունը շարունակում է հարձակումներ իրականացնել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի և Հայաստանի հետ սահմանի ողջ երկայնքով, պարբերաբար սպառնում է վերսկսել լայնածավալ ռազմական գործողություններ և հրաժարվում է հաշվի առնելդիպուկահարներին հետ քաշելու ԱՄՆ և միջազգային հանրության կոչերը: Ադրբեջանը ոչ կարիք ունի, ոչ էլ արժանի է ամերիկյան ռազմական աջակցության»,- ասել է ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականը մայիսի 18-ին ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերիին ուղղած նամակում:
Ավելի վաղ Ադրբեջանի դեմ «Լեհիի օրենքով» հետաքննություն իրականացնելու կոչով էր հանդես եկել ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսական, Ներկայացուցիչներիպալատի զինված ուժերի կոմիտեի անդամ Լորետա Սանչեսը:
«Լեհիի օրենքն» առաջին անգամ ներկայացվել է 1997 թվականին: Այն ԱՄՆ պետդեպարտամենտին և պաշտպանության դեպարտամենտին արգելում է ռազմական օգնություն տրամադրել այն երկրի ռազմական միավորումներին, որն անպատժելի կերպով խախտում է մարդու իրավունքները: Հավատարիմ մնալով ամերիկյան արժեքներին` օրենքն օգնում է երաշխավորելու, որ ԱՄՆ հարկային դոլարները չեն օգտագործվում այն զորամիավորումների, անհատների կամ անվտանգության ուժերի կողմից, ովքեր խախտում են մարդու իրավունքներն ու պատերազմական հանցագործություններ են կատարում:
