Կարեն Համբարձումյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.

«Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմում հաղթանակը մեր տոնը չէ»։ 
Արդեն մի քանի տարի է՝ հատկապես մայիսի 9-ին, ակտիվանում են այս տեսակետի կրողները, որոնք կատաղի պայքար են մղում այդ հաղթանակը խորհրդանշող ցանկացած ատրիբուտիկայի նկատմամբ։ 
Իհարկե հասկանալի է, որ պատմաքաղաքական իրավիճակ է փոխվել, և այն երկիրը, որն այդ հաղթանակի կերտողն էր, այլևս գոյություն չունի, ավելին ՝ գոյություն չունեն նաև ԽՄ երկրներին միավորող՝ ազգերի միասնության և եղբայրության գաղափարները, և ժամանակին այս հաղթանակը կիսած ԽՄ հանրապետություններն, այժմ մեկը մյուսի հետ ռազմական կոնֆլիկտների և փոխադարձ թշնամանքի մեջ են հայտնվել։ Այս պայամաններում դժվար ընդհանուր հաղթանակ կիսել։ Օրինակ այսօր դժվար թե՝ օրինակ ուկրաինացիներն ու վրացիները խոսեն ՌԴ-ի հետ հաղթանակ կիսելու մասին, կամ էլ հայերը՝ ադրբեջանցիների հետ։ 
Այսինքն, բացառությամբ ՌԴ-ի՝ պատմական այս իրադարձությամբ ոգևորեվելու և հպարտանալու որևէ հիմք նախկին ԽՄ երկրներում չի մնացել, և պատմաքաղաքական ու հասարակական ինչ-ինչ տեղաշարժերը բնական է, որ փոխել են այս երկրներին, ոչ դրական ընկալումներ ձևավորել և ինքնակամ հրաժարվել այդ հաղթանակից՝ վերագրելով այն միայն ՌԴ-ին։ 
Վերոհիշյալ տեսակետի կրողները, որոնք, հիմանականում տառապում են ծայարահեղության հասնող հակառուսականությամբ, պնդում են, որ մեզ այս պատերազմը չի տվել ոչինչ, կամ «ֆաշիզմը մեզ չեր սպառնում» և «Հիտլերը մեզ կխնայեր», որովհետև «Նժդեհը կամ Դրոն կապեր ունեին Հիտլերի հետ», և «Հիտլերը լսել էր, որ հայերն արիական ժողովուրդ են» և որպես «արիականության գաղափարի կրող», «հայերի մասին բարձր կարծիք ուներ»։ 
Ավելորդ է նշել, որ պատմության մասին «եթե»-ներով խոսելը ժամավաճառության ամենատիպիկի դրսևորումներից է, և անիմաստ է համացանցում գլուխ հարթուկելը, թե ինչ կլիներ, եթե ԽՄ-ն չհաղթեր Նացիստական Գերմանիային և այլն։

Իհարկե, 1945-ն ու 1992 մայիս 9-երը, կշեռքի նույն նժարի վրա երբեք չեն կարող լինել։ Իհարկե՝ եթե Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմից հայ ժողովրդի օգուտները հստակ ձևակերպելը դժվար է, ապա Շուշիի ազատագրումը հայկական պետականության վերծննդի հիմքը դարձավ։ Եվ Բնական է, որ հատկապես նոր սերնդի աչքերում Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմը չի կարող ունենալ այն նշանակությունը, ինչ Շուշիի ազատագրումը։

Սակայն անկախ վերոհիշյալ հանգամանքներից՝ Հայրենական պատերազմում մենք տվել ենք հարյուր հազարավոր զոհեր, մեզանում են այսօր ապրում են այդ պատերազմի վետերանները, որոնք այդ հաղթանակը համարում են իրենց կյանքի մեծագույն ձեռքբերումը, որն իրենց ընկալմամբ, կերտվել է հանուն նոր սերունդների բարօրության։ Եվ այդ նույն սերունդների որոշ ներկայացուցիչների կողմից ամեն մայիսի 9-ին հնչող «ինչ է մեզ տվել Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմը» և նման տրամադրություններ կրող հարցադրումները վիրավորում են Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմում զոհված մեր հայրենակիցների հիշատակը և արդեն փոքրաթիվ վետերաններին, որոնք զինվորական համազգեստի վրա հպարտությամբ մեդալներ ամրացրած, թաց աչքերով նոր սերնդից ամեն մայիս 9-ին երախտիքի խոսքեր են ակնկալում լսել։
