Ավստրալական Midnight Oil լեգենդար խմբի երաժիշտները գրեթե 15 տարվա ընդմիջումից հետո որոշել են վերադառնալ համատեղ ստեղծագործական գործունեության, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:
«Մենք հասկանում ենք, որ բավական երկար ժամանակ Է անցել, այնուամենայնիվ, որոշել ենք գալիք տարի մի քանի համերգ տալ Ավստրալիայում եւ, հուսով ենք՝ այլ երկրներում»,-ասված Է հաղորդագրության մեջ, որը զետեղված Է խմբի ինտերնետ-կայքում:
Midnight Oil-ը ստեղծվել Է 1970-ական թվականներին Սիդնեյում, իսկ լայն ճանաչում եւ ժողովրդականություն Է ստացել 1980-ական թվականներին. ռոքի ստաժավոր սիրահարները լավ են հիշում եւ սիրում նրա այնպիսի հիթեր, ինչպիսիք են "Beds Are Burning"-ը, "The Dead Heart"-ը, "Blue Sky Mine»-ը: Խմբի անդամները միշտ Էլ աչքի են ընկել քաղաքական ակտիվությամբ եւ նույնիսկ արմատականությամբ. իրենց շատ երգերում նրանք խստորեն քննադատում Էին Արեւմուտքի քաղաքական իստեբլիշմենտին՝ ռազմամոլության համար, արհամարհական վերաբերմունքը բանվորական խավի, բնիկ ժողովուրդների եւ բնապահպանական խնդիրների նկատմամբ:
Վերջին ալբոմը խումբը ձայնագրել Է 2002 թվականին, ինչից հետո նրա երաժիշտների ուղիները բաժանվել են: Նրանց մեծ մասը շարունակել Է նվագել այլ խմբերում եւ զբաղվել պրոդյուսերական գործունեությամբ, իսկ Midnight Oil-ի վոկալիստ եւ ղեկավար Փիթեր Հարեթը հաջող քաղաքական կարիերա Է արել. 2007 թվականից մինչեւ 2013 թվականը նա լեյբորիստական կառավարությունների կազմում Էր, եղել Է շրջակա միջավայրի պահպանության նախարար եւ դպրոցական կրթության նախարար:
2009 թվականին Ֆրանսիայի կառավարությունը Հարեթին պարգեւատրել Է Արվեստների եւ գրականության շքանշանով, իսկ 2010 թվականին Վայրի բնության համաշխարհային հիմնադրամը նրան ներկայացրել Է «Կենդանի մոլորակի առաջնորդները» պարգեւին: Երեք տարի առաջ Հարեթը հեռացել Է քաղաքականությունից եւ հուշերի գիրք Է գրել: Վերջերս 63-ամյա երգիչը հայտնել Է, որ աշխատում Է սոլո ալբոմի վրա, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
