Կալիֆոռնիայի նահանգապետն արգելել Է ծխախոտի վաճառքը 21-ից ցածր տարիքի անձանց

Կալիֆոռնիայի նահանգապետ Ջերի Բրաունը մայիսի 4-ին ստորագրել է այն օրինագիծը, որն արգելում է նահանգի տարածքում սիգարետների եւ ծխախոտի այլ արտադրանքի վաճառքը 21-ից ցածր տարիքի անձանց: Այդպիսով, Կալիֆոռնիան Հավայիից հետո դարձել է ԱՄՆ-ի երկրորդ նահանգը, որը բարձրացրել է նվազագույն տարիքը, որից սկսած կարելի է ծխախոտ գնել, տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը:
Համերկրային օրենսդրության համաձայն՝ ԱՄՆ-ի տարածքում սիգարետների վաճառքի համար նվազագույն տարիքը 18-ն է: Մի քանի նահանգներ, մասնավորապես, Ալաբաման, Ալյասկան, Նյու Ջերսին եւ Յուտան այն բարձրացրել են մինչեւ 19: Ընդ որում վերջին մի քանի տարվա ընթացքում առանձին քաղաքների, այդ թվում՝ այնպիսի խոշոր մեգապոլիսների իշխանությունները, ինչպիսիք են Նյու Յորքը, Չիկագոն եւ Սան Ֆրանցիսկոն, տեղական մակարդակով ծխախոտի գնման համար անհրաժեշտ նվազագույն տարիքը բարձրացրել են մինչեւ 21: Ամբողջ նահանգի մասշտաբով ԱՄՆ-ում առաջինը նման արգելք է սահմանել Հավային այս տարվա ապրիլին:
Օրենքն ուժի մեջ կմտնի այս տարվա հունիսին: Ներկայում Կալիֆոռնիայում սիգարետներ կարող են գնել 18-ից բարձր տարիքի մարդիկ: Բրաունն այն կարծիքին է, որ սահմանված արգելքը կօգնի երիտասարդությանը զերծ պահել առողջության համար այն վնասից, որը պատճառում է նիկոտինային կախվածությունը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
