 Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախումբը Թուրքիայում ԱՄՆ դեսպան Ջոն Բասին կոչ է արել հրապարակայնորեն բարձրաձայնել Միացյալ Նահանգների մտահոգությունը թուրքական մեջլիսի հայ պատգամավոր Գարո Փայլանի անվտանգության հարցով: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին հանձնախմբից:

Վերջին օրերին Թուրքիայի մեջլիսում և սահմանադրական հանձնաժողովում Փայլանը ենթարկվել է ֆիզիկական բռնությունների ու սպառնալիքի, որն ինքը` պատգամավորը որակել է որպես «Լինչի դատաստան տեսնելու փորձ»:

Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբի ղեկավար Արամ Համփարյանը դեսպան Ջոն Բասին ուղղված նամակում հիշեցրել է, որ տարիներ առաջ էլ ԱՄՆ ղեկավարությունը որևէ մտահոգություն չհայտնեց Հրանտ Դինքի անվտանգության հետ կապված, թեպետ իրենք բազմիցս բարձրացրել էին այդ հարցը:

«Այս ցավալի փորձառությունը նկատի ունենալով` այժմ ժամանակն է, որ մեր կառավարությունը հրատապ կերպով և հրապարակայնորեն իր մտահոգությունը հայտնի Գարո Փայլանի անվտանգության հարցով, ինչպես նաև դատապարտի Թուրքիայի կառավարության ներսում և դրանից դուրս գտնվող բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր ատելություն են սերմանում խիզախ քաղաքացիական առաջնորդի դեմ, ով խոսում է շիտակ և ազնիվ կերպով մարդու իրավունքների, հանդուրժողականության, բազմազանության և ցեղասպանության հարցերով»,- նշվում է Թուրքիայում ԱՄՆ դեսպանին ուղղված նամակում:
