Պաշտպանության նախարարությունը բանակի առջև դրված խնդիրների, հակառակորդի և սեփական ուժերի գնահատման շրջանակներում համապատասխան վերլուծություններ ու հետևություններ է անում հակառակորդի հնարավոր  գործողությունների վերաբերյալ: Ազգային ժողովում լրագրողների հետ զրույցում այս մասին ասաց ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանը՝ անդրադառնալով ղարաբաղա-ադրբեջանական շփման գծում հակառակորդի զինուժի տեղաշարժին և կուտակումներին:

«Իհարկե, իրավիճակն առաջնային գծում այսօր լարված է, և ցանկացած պահի կարող են ցանկացած գործողություններ լինել»,- նշեց Օհանյանը:

Նա վստահեցրեց, որ ԼՂ պաշտպանության բանակը իր առջև դրված խնդիրները իրականացնում է բարձր մակարդակով: «Պաշտպանության բանակը պատրաստ է պաշտպանողական և այլ խնդիրների իրականացմանը»,- ընդգծեց նախարարը:

Հարցին՝ նոր պատերազմ լինելո՞ւ է, Օհանյանը պատասխանեց, որ այս պահին ժամանակավոր հրադադար է:

Անդրադառնալով 200 միլիոն դոլարի վարկային համաձայնագրով ՌԴ-ից զենքի ձեռքբերման մասին հարցին՝ նախարարը պատասխանեց. «Համապատասխան աշխատանքներ են տարվում ռազմատեխնիկական համագործակցության շրջանակներում զենքի ձեռքբերման տեմպերի արագացման ուղղությամբ»:

Դիտարկմանը, որ կառավարության առաջիկա նիստում քննարկվելու է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի անկախությունը ճանաչելու հարցը, նախարարը պատասխանեց, որ տեղյակ չէ: Հարցին՝ ինչպե՞ս է վերաբերվում ՀՀ-ի կողմից Արցախի անկախության ճանաչմանը, Սեյրան Օհանյանը կարճ պատասխանեց. «Ես իմ հայրենիքը միշտ էլ ճանաչում եմ»:
