Տարեսկզբից Միջերկրական ծովով Եվրոպա են ժամանել ավելի քան 184 հազար միգրանտներ ու փախստականներ: Դրա հետ մեկտեղ ավելի քան 1,3 հազար մարդ զոհվել կամ անհետ կորել Է ծովում եվրոպական երկրներ հասնելու փորձ կատարելիս: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնել Է Միգրացիայի միջազգային կազմակերպությունը (ՄՄԿ):
«ՄՄԿ-ի գնահատումներով՝ 2016 թվականին ծովով Եվրոպա են ժամանել 184 հազար 546 միգրանտներ ու փախստականներ»,-Ժնեւում կայացած ճեպազրույցում տեղեկացրել Է կազմակերպության պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Ջոել Միլմանը: Զոհվածների եւ անհետ կորածների թիվը տարեսկզբից հասել Է 357-ի:
Հունաստան Է ժամանել 154 հազար 862 մարդ, Իտալիա՝ 28 հազար 593, Իսպանիա՝ 1063, Կիպրոս՝ 28 հոգի:
Ինչպես նշել Է Միլմանը, 2015 թվականն «անհամեմատ ավելի մահաբեր Էր, քան ընթացիկ տարին»: Անցյալ տարի Միջերկրական ծովում առաջին չորս ամիսների ընթացքում զոհվել Էր 1733 մարդ, իսկ ընթացիկ տարում՝ 27 տոկոսով պակաս: Միեւնույն ժամանակ միգրանտների ու փախստականների ընդհանուր թիվը, որոնք հունվարից մինչեւ ապրիլ ներառյալ ժամանել են Եվրոպա, այս տարի զգալիորեն ավելի մեծ Է, քան անցյալ տարվա նույն ժամանակաշրջանում, երբ Հին Աշխարհ Էր ժամանել 52 հազար 750 մարդ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
