«Օսկարի» կրկնակի մրցանակակիր ավստրալացի դերասանուհի Քեյթ Բլանշեթը դարձել է ՄԱԿ-ի փախստականների գործերի գործակալության բարի կամքի դեսպան, տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով Associated Press գործակալությանը:
Ինչպես հայտնել է ՄԱԿ-ի փախստականների գործերի գերագույն կոմիսար Ֆիլիպո Գրանդին, Բլանշեթը վերջերս է վերադարձել Հորդանանից, որտեղ հանդիպում է ունեցել սիրիացի փախստականների ընտանիքների հետ եւ անմիջական տեղեկատվություն ստացել նրանց վիճակի մասին:
Դերասանուհին հայտարարություն է արել՝ ասելով, թե հպարտանում է իր նոր նշանակմամբ: Նա նշել է, որ այժմ աշխարհը «կանգնած է ճամփաբաժանին» եւ պետք է ընտրի կարեկցանքի կամ անհանդուրժողության ուղին: Ինչպես նշել է Բլանշեթը, այժմ աշխարհում շուրջ 60 մլն մարդ լքել են հարազատ տները, ինչը փախստականների ամենամեծ թվաքանակն է Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի ժամանակներից ի վեր:
Ավելի վաղ փախստականների գործերի գործակալությունը բարի կամքի դեսպան է նշանակել հոլիվուդյան դերասանուհու: Խոսքը վերաբերում է Անջելինա Ջոլիին, որն այդ առաքելությունն ստանձնել է 2012 թվականին, հաղորդել Է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը:
