 ՀՀ արդարադատության նախարարությունը ապրիլի 27-28-ը ԵԱՀԿ երևանյան գրասենյակի հետ համատեղ պետական մարմինների տեղեկատվության ազատության պատասխանատուների համար կազմակերպել էր  «Տեղեկատվության ազատությունը որպես պետական մարմինների թափանցիկությունը և պետական ծառայողների բարեվարքությունը խթանելու գործիք» խորագրով վերապատրաստման դասընթաց, որին մասնակցել են ՀՀ արդարադատության նախ արարի տեղակալ Սուրեն Քրմոյանը և ԵԱՀԿ երևանյան գրասենյակի ժողովրդավարացման բաժնի ղեկավար Դեյվիդ Գուլետը:

Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱՆ տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, որի հաղորդագրությունում նշված է. «ՀՀ արդարադատության նախարարի տեղակալ Սուրեն Քրմոյանը նշել է, որ տեղեկատվության ազատության գործիքի կիրառումը պետական մարմիններում շատ կարևոր է՝ աշխատանքն ավելի արդյունավետ դարձնելու առումով: Նախարարի տեղակալը հավելել է, որ ուսումնասիրելով մեր հարևան պետության՝ Ադրբեջանի, տեղեկատվության ազատության, մամուլի ազատության հետ կապված խնդիրները եկել է այն եզրակացության, որ ՀՀ-ն այդ առումով շատ առաջ է հարևան պետությունից, իսկ դա խոսում է այն մասին, որ Հայաստանը գնում է ժողովրդավարական ճանապարհով: Փոխնախարարի խոսքով՝ դրա համար պետք է շարունակել աշխատել բաց, թափանցիկ, կատարելագործել տեղեկատվության ազատության օրենսդրությունը և իրավակիրառ պրակտիկան, որպեսզի ՀՀ քաղաքացին, դիմելով ցանկացած պետական մարմին, ստանա իրեն անհրաժեշտ տեղեկատվությունը:

ԵԱՀԿ երևանյան գրասենյակի ժողովրդավարացման բաժնի ղեկավար Դեյվիդ Գուլետն էլ իր խոսքում նշել է, որ ԵԱՀԿ գրասենյակի համար պատիվ է աջակցել միջոցառման անցկացմանը, հավելելով, թե տեղեկատվության ազատությունը շատ կարևոր է: Դեյվիդ Գուլետն ընդգծել է, որ տեղեկատվության ազատությունն օգնում է, որպեսզի լրագրողները կարողանան որակյալ տեղեկատվություն տրամադրել հանրությանը:  Նրա խոսքով՝ պետական մարմինների տրամադրության տակ գտնվող ինֆորմացիայի մատչելիությունը մեծ նշանակություն ունի մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության համար:  Այդ համատեքստում ԵԱՀԿ երևանյան գրասենյակի ժողովրդավարացման բաժնի ղեկավարը կարևորել է ՀՀ արդարադատության նախարարության հետ համագործակցությունը:

Դասընթացի մասնակիցները քննարկել են ազատության իրավական հենքը, տեղեկատվության տրամադրման օբյեկտներն ու սուբյեկտները, այն ստանալու, տրամադրելու եղանակները, մերժման ու բողոքարկման հիմքերը: Ինչպես նաև քննարկվել է տեղեկատվության ազատությունը որպես պետական կառավարման համակարգում հաշվետվողականության ու թափանցիկության ապահովման և կոռուպցիոն ռիսկերի նվազեցման գործիք, պետական մարմինների պարտավորությունները՝ որպես տեղեկատվության ազատության իրավունքի իրականացման երաշխիք»:
