Reddit սոցիալական կայքի համահիմնադիր Ալեքսիս Օհանյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրառում է կատարել Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ` ասելով, որ ճանաչման պայքարը չի դադարելու:«101 տարի հետ մենք դեռ պայքարում են Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման համար, և մենք չենք դադարելու դա անել: Այսօր իմ ծննդյան օրն է (ապրիլի 24), ինչը կենդանի վկայություն է, որ Թուրքիան ձախողել է: Այսօր մենք ազգ ենք, որը բարգավաճում է ամբողջ աշխարհում: Շնորհակալություն նրանց, ովքեր տառապեցին մեզանից առաջ»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ` գրել է Ալեքսիս Օհանյանը` հիշեցնելով, որ մեկ տարի առաջ «Reddit»-ում հրապարակվել է իր ընտանիքի պատմությունը` իր հայրիկի ու պապիկի պատմածների հիման վրա:

Ալեքսիս Օհանյանի պապիկ Ջոն Օհանյանը պատմում է. «Իմ ծնողները որբացել են, երբ թուրքական կառավարությունը Հայոց ցեղասպանության ընթացքում Թուրքիան մաքրեց հայ բնակչությունից: Իմ մայրը մեկն էր այն փախստականներից, ով Թուրքիայից դեպի Սիրիա` Հալեպ, աքսորի ճանապարհը բռնեց, որի ժամանակ շատերը մահացան, այդ թվում` նրա եղբայրն ու քույրը:

Իմ հոր ծնողները սպանվել են նրա աչքի առաջ, երբ թուրքերը գրոհել են նրանց քաղաքը: Մի հեծյալ զինվոր ցանկացել է սպանել իմ հայրիկին, բայց նրա ընկերը կանգնեցրել է նրան` ասելով, որ երեխան չափազանց փոքր է և որպես միակ երեխա` իմ հայրը տարվել է Թուրքիայում գտնվող որբանոց: Նա առաջին անգամ ԱՄՆ է եկել 1920-ին և հետո գտել իմ մորը, ով ապրում էր Հալեպում: Նրանք հարևաններ էին, և հայրս իր հետ մորս բերել է Միացյալ Նահանգներ, որտեղ էլ շուտով ամուսնացել են: Նրանք ունեցել են 4 երեխա` 3 աղջիկ և մեկ տղա: Ես երկրորդն էի` ինձնից ավագ մեկ և երկու կրտսեր քույր ունեմ:

Ինչ սովորեցի ծնողներիցս, այն էր, որ ես ինքս պետք է հոգ տանեմ իմ կարիքների և իմ ընտանիքի մասին, և որ ընտանիքը դաստիարակության ամենակարևոր մասն է»:

Ջոն Օհանյանը որպես կամավոր մասնակցել է Երկրորդ Համաշխարհային պատերազմին: Ծառայելով 33 ամիս` նա վերադարձել է քաղաքացիական կյանք, շարունակել ուսումն ու դարձել իրավաբան:
