1914-1916թթ .Օսմանյան Թուրքիան զանգվածային կոտորածներ իրականացրեց Արևմտյան Հայաստանի բոլոր գավառներում: Դրա մասին ջարդարարները պլանավորել էին դեռևս 1911թ-ին Սալոնիկում կայացած ժողովի ժամանակ: Ավելի քան 1.5 մլն հայ դարձավ այդ ոճիրի զոհը: Նեմեսիս ծրագրի շնորհիվ հայ վրիժառուները արժանի հատուցման արժանացրին ջարդարարներին:
 
Ապրիլի 24-ին Ջերմուկի Սուրբ Գայանե եկեղեցում հոգևոր հովիվ Տեր Գալուստ քահանա Սահակյանը կատարեց Եղեռնի զոհերի հիշատակի և ոգեկոչման կարգ, ապա եկեղեցու բակի խաչքարի մոտ հավաքված ժողովուրդը մեկ րոպե լռությամբ հարգեց եղեռնի զոհերի հիշատակը, որից հետո հավատացյալ բազմությունն աղոթք հնչեցրեց առ Աստված՝ 101 տարի առաջ նահատակված մեկուկես միլիոն հայերի հիշատակի համար:
 
Ջերմուկի Սուրբ Գայանե եկեղեցու հոգևոր հովիվ Տեր Գալուստ քահանա Սահակյանը ներկայացրեց Հայոց ցեղասպանության 101-րդ տարելիցի խորհուրդը և խոսեց ցեղասպանությունների կանխարգելման հրամայականի մասին: Նշելով, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը հայ ժողովրդի ինքնության մասն է` քահանան նշեց, որ 101-րդ տարելիցը նոր սկիզբ է և զորեղ հայ ազգի, հայ պետականության հիմք:
 
Ապա ջերմուկցիները, չխախտելով ավանդույթը, ծաղիկներ ու ծաղկեպսակներ խոնարհեցին Եղեռնի զոհերի խաչքարին:
 
Հիշեցնենք, որ 2015 թվականի ապրիլի 24-ին, բարերար Սերգեյ Մովսիսյանի նախաձեռնությամբ Ջերմուկի Սուրբ գայանե եկեղեցու բակում տեղադրվել էր հուշաքար՝ ի հիշատակ հայոց մեծ եղեռնի զոհերի:
