Հայաստանի նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ու առաջին տիկին Ռիտա Սարգսյանն այսօր՝ ապրիլի 24-ին, առավոտյան այցելել են «Ծիծեռնակաբերդ» հուշահամալիր եւ հարգանքի տուրք մատուցել 1915թ. Մեծ եղեռնի զոհերի հիշատակին։ Նախագահը ծաղկեպսակ է դրել հուշահամալիրին:

Պետության ղեկավարին ուղեկցում են Շառլ Ազնավուրը, աշխարհահռչակ դերասան Ջորջ Քլունին, Ավրորա մրցանակի մասնակիցները, Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Բ-ն: Ջորջ Քլունին ծաղիկներ է դրել Ծիծեռնակաբերդի հուշահամալիրում: Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոսը Հայր մերից հետո նաեւ սգո աղոթք է ընթերցել Ցեղասպանության անմեղ զոհերի հիշատակին։ 

Վաղ առավոտից Ծիծեռնակաբերդի բլուր են ուղեւորվում հազարավոր մարդիկ, դիվանագիտական կորպուսի, սփյուռքի ներկայացուցիչներ, հյուրեր եւ հայաստանցիներ:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Օսմանյան Թուրքիայի իրականացրած ոճիրի զոհ էր դարձել ավելի քան մեկուկես միլիոն հայ։ 1915թ. ապրիլի 24-ին Կոստանդնուպոլսում ձերբակալվել եւ մահպատժի էր ենթարկվել հայ ողջ մտավորականությունը։ Այդ օրը դարձել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակի օր: Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը պաշտոնապես ճանաչել եւ դատապարտել են Ուրուգվայը, Ֆրանսիան, Իտալիան, Գերմանիան, Բելգիան, Նիդեռլանդները, Շվեյցարիան, Ռուսաստանը, Լեհաստանը, Լիտվան, Հունաստանը, Կիպրոսը, Սլովակիան, Արգենտինան, Կանադան, Վատիկանը, Լիբանանը, Չիլին, Շվեդիան եւ մի շարք այլ պետություններ:
