Կիպրոսցի պատգամավորը աշխարհին կոչ է անում հետևել ՀՀ խորհրդարանի օրինակին և դատապարտել ցեղասպանությունները

Այն, ինչ տեղի է ունեցել 1915թ. Օսմանյան Կայսրությունում հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ, ցեղասպանություն է, որը պետք է ճանաչվի և դատապարտվի: «Ընդդեմ ցեղասպանության հանցագործության» երկրորդ գլոբալ ֆորումի ընթացքում այս մասին հայտարարեց Կիպրոսի խորհրդարանի անդամ Սոֆոկլիս Ֆիտիսը:«Կիպրոսը իր համար պատիվ է համարում լինել հայկական փոքր համայնքի երկրորդ հայրենիքը: Այսօր Կիպրոսում ապրող հայերի  մեծամասությունը Ցեղասպանությունից փրկված մարդկանց ժառանգներն են: Կիպրոսը երկրորդ երկիրն է, որը ճանաչել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, իսկ անցած տարվա ապրիլին Հայաստանի Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Գալուստ Սահակյանի՝ Կիպրոս կատարած  այցի ժամանակ և Հայոց ցեղասպանության  100-րդ տարելիցի կապակցությամբ մենք քրեականացրել ենք Հայոց ցեղասպանության ժխտումը»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ընդգծեց Ֆիտիսը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության տարիներին հայ ժողովրդի ճակատագրին են արժանացել նաև Օսմանյան Կայսրության տարածքում ապրող հույներն ու ասորիները, որոնք նույնպես տեղահանվել են իրենց բնակավայրերից և սպանվել: «Հայաստանի խորհրդարանի կողմից ասորիների և հույների ցեղասպանության ճանաչումը համերաշխության ակտ էր, որին պետք է հետևի ողջ աշխարհը»,- հավելեց կիպրոսցի պատգամավորը:

Պատգամավորը Կիպրոսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անունից շնորհակալություն հայտնեց Հայաստանի ղեկավարությանը՝ «Ընդդեմ ցեղասպանության հանցագործության» երկրորդ գլոբալ ֆորումին մասնակցելու հրավերի համար՝ ընդգծելով, որ Կիպրոսում հատուկ համակրանք ունեն հայ ժողովրդի և նրա երկարատև ու արդար պայքարի նկատմամբ:
