 Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը հայ ժողովրդի պատմության մի մասն է, սակայն այն ոչ միայն հայության, այլև ամբողջ մարդկության ցավն է: «Ընդդեմ Ցեղասպանության հանցագործության» երկրորդ գլոբալ ֆորումի ընթացքում այս մասին ասաց հոլիվուդյան աշխարհահռչակ  դերասան Ջորջ Քլունին: < strong>«Մենք տեսնում ենք, որ բավականին երկարատև պայքար է գնում, որպեսզի հնարավոր լինի հասնել այն բանին, որ իրերը կոչվեն իրենց անուններով: Մենք տեսնում ենք, որ հայերի կոտորածները ցեղասպանություն որակելու առումով քայլեր արվում են, սակայն արվում են ավելի դանդաղ, այդ պայքարն ավելի երկար է շարունակվում, քան պետք է լիներ»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ նշեց Քլունին:

Քլունին շեշտեց, որ անհնար է հերքել այն, ինչ տեղի է ունեցել, իսկ 1915թ. հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ տեղի ունեցածը ցեղասպանություն է: «Գիտեք, Հոլոքոստից հետո անընդհատ լսել ենք «այլևս երբեք» արտահայտությունը, սակայն դրանից հետո եղել են Ռուանդայի, Կամբոջայի, Բոսնիայի, Դարֆուրի ցեղասպանությունները»,- ասաց Քլունին:

Անդրադառնալով նիստը վարողի հարցին, թե ի՞նչն է իրեն ստիպել օգնել Դարֆուրի ցեղասպանությունից տուծած անձանց, Քլունին ընդգծեց, որ ինքն ԱՄՆ-ում մեծացել է մի ժամանակահատվածում, երբ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության համար լուրջ զարգացումներ ու շարժումներ էին լինում: «Այս ամենը տեսնելով՝ չես կարող ուղղակի անտեսել ու մեջքով շուռ գալ: Պետք է ասեմ, որ փառքը խեղդող է, երբ քեզ անընդհատ հետևում են տեսախցիկները: Սակայն երբ ես կարդացի հոդվածներ Դարֆուրում տեղի ունեցող իրադարձությունների մասին, որոշեցի, որ այդ տեսախցիկները պետք է հետևեն ոչ մի այն ինձ, այլ նաև դրանց միջոցով մենք պետք է բարձրաձայնենք այնտեղ տեղի ունեցողի մասին»,- նշեց նա:

Նա նաև ուրախությամբ նկատեց, որ առաջին անգամ է այցելում Հայաստան ու շատ ուրախ է «Ընդդեմ ցեղասպանության հանցագործության» երկրորդ գլոբալ ֆորումին մասնակցելու համար: «Ես շատ ուրախ ու հպարտ եմ, որ այստեղ եմ գտնվում, մասնակցում եմ այս հոյակապ միջոցառմանը»,- եզրափակեց Քլունին:
