Վատիկանը պաշտոնապես հաստատել է, որ Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսը, ով այցելել է Հունաստանի Լեսբոս կղզում գտնվող փախստականներին, 12 փախստականի իր հետ կտանի Իտալիա: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին տեղեկացնում է Associated Press լրատվական գործակալությունը:

«Վատիկանը հաստատել է, որ Հռոմի պապը 12 սիրիացի մուսուլման փախստականի, այդ թվում և 6 երեխայի, կբերի Իտալիա»,- գրում է լրատվամիջոցը:

Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը ապրիլի 16-ինպատմական այցով ժամանել է ՀունաստանիԼեսբոս կղզի` իր աջակցությունը ցուցաբերելուայնտեղ գտնվող ներգաղթյալներին, ովքեր լավկյանքի ակնկալիքով փորձում են հասնելհյուսիսային Եվրոպա:

Դեպի Լեսբոս ուղևորության ընթացքումինքնաթիռում Ֆրանիսկոսը նշել է. «Այս ճանապարհորդությունն առանձնանում է տխրությամբ... Մենք ականատեսն ենք լինելուԵրկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմից հետո գրանցված վատագույն մարդկային աղետին: Մենք կտեսնենք շատ մարդկանց,ովքեր տառապում ենք, փախչում ու չգիտեն, թե ուր գնան: Մենք նաև գնալու ենք գերեզման` ծով: Այնքան շատ մարդիկ այդպեսէլ չկարողացան հասնել կղզի»:

Վատիկանից հայտնել են, որ Հռոմի պապի այցը մարդասիրական և կրոնական բնույթ ունի և չպետք է դիտարկվի, որպեսարտաքսման քաղաքականությանն ուղղված քննադատություն: Այդուհանդերձ, Վատիկանի ներկայացուցիչ կարդինալ ԱնտոնիոՄարիա Վեգլիոն նշել է, որ փախստականների վերաբերյալ ԵՄ-Թուրքիա համաձայնությունը վերաբերում է ներգաղթյալներինորպես առևտրի առարկա և չի ճանաչում նրանց արժանապատվությունը որպես մարդկային էակ:

Այցի ընթացքում Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսը Համայն ուղղափառ եկեղեցու պատրիարք Բարդուղիմեոսի և Աթենքի ու համայնՀելլադայի Հերոնիմոս Բ արքեպիսկոպոսի հետ Հունաստանի Լեսբոս կղզում համատեղ հռչակագիր են ստորագրել: Հռչակագրով կոչէ արվում միջազգային հանրությանը պահպանել մարդկային կյանքը որպես առաջնահերթություն և երկարացնել ժամանակավորապաստարանը բոլոր նրանց համար, ովքեր < i>դրա կարիքն ունեն:
