Յուրաքանչյուր երկիր և ժամանակաշրջան ունի գեղեցկության իր չափանիշները: Ոմանց համար դուք գեղեցկուհի եք, ոման համար էլ` տգեղ, ինչպես ասում են` յուրաքանչյուրը գեղեցիկն ընկալում է իր ճաշակին համապատասխան: Սույն հոդվածում կներկայացնենք ձեզ, թե ինչպիսին էին գեղեցկության չափանիշները տարբեր երկրներում և ժամանակներում:

Հին Եգիպտոս. ուղիղ քիթ, պարտադիր կարմրացրած այտեր, ուղիղ հարթ սև մազեր, բարձր ճակատ և երկար պարանոց: 

Հին Հունաստան. լայն կոնքեր, նեղ իրան և տափակ որովայն, շեկ մազեր: Քանի որ հույները բնությունից մուգ մազեր ունեին, կանայք ստիպված էին գունաթափել դրանք:

Հարավային Աֆրիկայի հնդկացիներ. շլդիկ աչքեր, գանգի տափակ ձև, նեղ դեմք, ընդգծված այտոսկրեր, մեծ և կլոր դունչ: 

Արաբական երկրներ. կլոր դեմք, փարթամ կիսալուսնի ձևով ունքեր, մեծ սև աչքեր, ալ կարմիր շուրթեր, սպիտակ ատամնաշար, երկար և փարթամ մազեր: Մարմնի վրա անգամ աղվամազ չպետք է լինի, կոնքերը` լայն, իսկ որովայնը կլորավուն: 

Հեռավոր Արևելքի երկրներ. ոչ բարձրահասակ, փոքրամարմին կանայք` փոքր կրծքով, որևէ հույզ չարտահայտող տիկնիկանման դեմքով, սպիտակ մաշկով և ալ կարմիր շուրթերով: 

Հնդկաստան. փարթամ կանայք` մեծ կոնքերով և մեծ կրծքով: 

Նորվեգիա. երկար, շեկ մազեր, փոքր քիթ, լայն կոնքեր, արտահայտիչ այտոսկրեր:

Իտալիա. կլոր կոնքեր, միջին չափի կուրծք, հարթ մաշկ, երկար, փայլուն մազեր: 

Լատինական Ամերիկա. մեծ կենքեր, մեծ կուրծք, մեծ շուրթեր, երկար մազեր, փոքր քիթ:

Շվեցիա. երկար ոտքեր, կապույտ աչքեր: 

Նախկին ԽՍՀՄ. երկար, բաց գույնի մազեր, լայն կոնքեր, միջին չափի կուրծք, կապույտ աչքեր: 

Բուլղարիա. բաց գույնի մազեր և սև աչքեր:
