Ռուսաստանի շահը պահանջում է սիրաշահել Ադրբեջանին, քանի որ այն Ադրբեջանից դեռ ստանալու շատ բան ունի

Հայաստանը Ռուսաստանի համար այլևս արժեք չի ներկայացնում, այն Հայաստանից ստացել է այն ամենը, ինչ իրեն պետք էր, նաև այն, ինչ կարելի էր ստանալ ու ինչ որ արժեք էր ներկայացնում: Տվեցինք ամենաթանկ ու նվիրականը` ինքնիշխանությունը: Փոխարենը ոչինչ չենք ստացել, ակնկալում էինք միայն մեկ բան - անվտանգություն: Բայց ինչպես տեսանք, դա միայն երազանք էր, մանկական երազանք, որ Ռուսաստանն իր ազգային ու պետական շահերին հակառակ կապահովի Հայաստանի անվտանգությունը:
Իսկ ինչու իր շահերին հակառակ, որովհետև Ռուսաստանի շահը պահանջում է սիրաշահել Ադրբեջանին, քանի որ այն Ադրբեջանից դեռ ստանալու շատ բան ունի, բայց Ադրբեջանը մեր պես, մեղմ ասած` միամիտ չի, որ անվճար Ռուսաստանին տա իր ուզածը: Նա կպահանջի գին, շատ մեծ գին, իսկ այդ գինը Ռուսաստանը կվճարի, բայց ոչ իր հաշվին, քանի որ Ադրբեջանի ուզածը, ֆորմալ առումով, Ռուսաստանին չի պատկանում, պատկանում է Հայերին, ձեռք է բերված աղետալի ծանր գնով, հաղթանակով:
Ադրբեջանը չմիացավ ՀԱՊԿ-ին, ԵՏՄ-ին, ֆորմալ առումով անդամակցում է ԱՊՀ-ին, ինչը, սակայն, որևէ ազդեցություն չունի տարածաշրջանային գործընթացներում:
Ադրբեջանն ունի նավթ, բնական գազի մեծ հաստատված պաշարներ, Թուրքիայի հետ ջերմ, սերտ ու բարեկամական հարաբերություններ, Ռուսաստանի խոշոր կապիտալի ներկայությունը Ադրբեջանի տնտեսության մեջ նվազագույն է, ազդեցության լծակները` գրեթէ զրոյական:
Ինչ է ստացվում? Ադրբեջանը Ռուսաստանի համար մի քանի անգամ ավելի կարևոր է ու ավելի մեծ նշանակություն ունի, քան Հայաստանը:
Ու պետք չէ նեղանալ Ռուսաստանից, որովհետև Ռուսաստանը գործում է բացառապես իր շահերից ելնելով, ինչպես որ կաներ ցանկացած իրեն հարգող պետություն ու իշխանություն:
Մինչդեռ մենք, միամիտներս, խոպանում ապահով աշխատելու ու պաշտպանված լինելու խաբկանքի մեջ գոյատևելու, ու Հայաստանի ներսում <կայունությունը> պահպանելու համար գործեցինք մեր ազգային ու պետական շահի դեմ` հավատալով, որ ինչ որ պահի Կօրհնվի էն սհաթը . . .
