Թուրքական իշխանությունները շարունակում են պնդել, որ Սիրիայում իրենց F-16 կործանիչը օրինական է խոցել ռուսական Су-24 ռմբակոծիչը: Հետևաբար, Ռուսաստանը «պետք է գիտակցի», որ Թուրքիան ՆԱՏՕ-ի միակ անդամ երկիրն է, որը չի աջակցել հակառուսական պատժամիջոցները: Ըստ Թուրքիայի ԱԳ նախարար Մեւլութ Չավուշօղլուի, երկիրը դա անում է, չնայած նրան, որ Մոսկվայի արձագանքը տեղի ունեցածին «հեռու էր համընդհանուր ընդունվածից»:

Չավուշօղլուն նշել է նաև, որ երկու երկրների միջև հարաբերություններում կա դրական տեղաշարժ: Դա պայմանավորված է նրանով, որ հենց թուրք օդաչուն գաղտնի հարված է հասցրել ռուսական ռմբակոծիչին, Ռուսաստանի իշխանությունները չափազանց զգացմունքային էին: Այժմ, որոշ ժամանակ անց, եթե Ռուսաստանը զիջումների կգնա, ապա հարաբերությունները կարող են վերականգնվել:

«Խփված օդանավի հետ ճգնաժամից հետո՝ առաջին փուլում ռուսական կողմը էմոցիոնալ է գործել, սակայն այս պահին Մոսկվայի գործողություններն ավելի գիտակցված են դարձել: Դա դրական տեղաշարժի մասին է խոսում: Մենք չէինք ցանկանում, որպեսզի խոցվեր ռուսական ինքնաթիռը, սակայն կան օդային տարածքի պաշտպանության վերաբերյալ որոշակի պահանջներ: Միջադեպից հետո մենք ամենաբարձր մակարդակով ենք արտահայտել մեր ափսոսանքն ու ցավակցությունն: Եթե Ռուսաստանը քայլեր ձեռնարկի, ապա հարաբերությունները կկարգավորվեն», - մեջբերում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստին» Չավուշօղլուի հայտարարությունը:
