ՀՀ վարչապետը, ով ներկա էր Գյումրու Սուրբ Նշան եկեղեցում գյումրեցի երեք նահատակված հերոսների հոգեհանգստի արարողությանը, լրագրողների հետ զրույցում անդրադարձավ հայկական բանակի մարտունակությանն ու ընդհանրապես Ադրբեջանի կողմից կատարած քայլին:

«Ադրբեջանի սանձազերծած գործողությունը դատապարտում է ողջ աշխարհը, ամբողջ մարդկությունը: Ճիշտ է, դա առաջին ոտնձգությունը չէ, բայց 1994 թվականից հետո իր մասշտաբով առաջինն է: Ցավոք սրտի ունենք կորուստներ, նահատակներ, ովքեր իրենց կյանքը զոհաբերեցին մեր երկրորդ հայկական հանրապետության սահմանները պաշտպանելու համար: Մենք խոնարհվում ու մեր զորակցությունն ենք հայտնում մեր զինվորների, մեր հերոսների հարազատներին: Ես համոզված եմ, որ մենք լինելու ենք մեր զինվորի կողքին, բայց մենք նաեւ հպարտ ենք, որ ունենք այդպիսի Õ �երոս զինվորներ, սպաներ, ունենք նման մարտունակ բանակ, որ կարողացավ դիմակայել այդ մեծ ագրեսիային: Ես կարծում եմ, որ մենք համապատասխան հարված տվել ենք մեր թշնամուն: Եթե մենք ունենք զոհեր, ապա իրենք ունեն մի քանի անգամ ավել զոհեր, բայց դա մեզ չի մխիթարում, իհարկե, մենք չենք ցանկանում պատերազմ, մենք ցանկանում ենք խաղաղություն, բայց եթե լինի նման ագրեսիա, մենք պարտավոր ենք ուղղակի պաշտպանել մեր սահմանները, մեր ժողովուրդին, մեր երեխաներին, մեր ծնողներին, մեր ծերերին: Մենք ցավ ենք ապրում, սգում ենք»,-հավելեց Հովիկ Աբրահամյանը:

Խոսելով ՀՀ կառավարության կողմից բանակին օգնելու փաստի մասին՝ ՀՀ վարչապետը նշեց, որ կառավարությունը շարունակելու է օգնել բանակին, ավելին, հատկացումները կավելանան: «Մենք ունենք շատ լավ մարտունակ բանակ, եթե համալրված չլինեինք, այսօր չէր լինի զինադադար: Պետական միջոցները կավելացվի այնքան որքան անհրաժեշտ է»,-հավելեց Հովիկ Աբրահամյանը:
