Արցախյան ազատագրական շարժման շնորհիվ Արցախի հայությունը կարողացել է ազատվել գերությունից` վերակառուցելով իր կյանքն ու կառուցելով երկիրը միայն ու միայն ժողովրդավարության սկզբունքների հիման վրա: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին Ստեփանակերտում լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանն ասել է Արցախի Հանրապետության Նախագահ Բակո Սահակյանը:
«Մենք հազարամյակների ընթացքում առաջնորդվել ենք միայն ու միայն ժողովրդավարության արժեքներով, գործադրել ենք ջանքեր ժողովրդավար երկիր կառուցելու համար: Այս ամենը տարիների ընթացքում արձանագրվել է միջազգային հասարակության կողմից: Մենք արժանացել ենք տարբեր երկրների և առաքելություն իրականացնող խմբերի բարձր գնահատականների: Սակայն գերությունից ձերբազատման այդ տարիներին այս աշխատանքները իրականացրել և շարունակում ենք իրականացնել՝ մի ձեռքում ունենալով զենք, մյուսում` հաց ստեղծելու համար գյուղատնտեսական գործիք»,- նշել է Արցախի Նախագահը:
Անդրադառանալով ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդրի ծագման հարցին` Սահակյանը նշել է, որ չի համաձայնվում բոլոր նրանց հետ, ովքեր խնդրին միայն տարածաշրջանային բնորոշում են տալիս: «ԼՂ հիմնախնդիրը ծնվել է մեկ դար առաջ` աշխարհաքաղաքական զարգացումների շրջանում, երբ տեղի էր ունենում Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմը: Այդ պատմական ժամանակաշրջանում տեղի ունեցավ ևս մի ողբերգական իրադարձություն. Օսմանյան կայսրության կողմից ոչնչացվեց հայ ժողովրդի 1,5 միլիոն զավակ, տեղահանվեցին հարյուր հազարավոր մեր հայրենակիցներ: Եվ այդ ողբերգություններին գումարվեց ևս մեկ. մեր հայրենիքը մասնատվեց և 1921 թվականին մեր հայրենիքի մի մասը հայտնվեց մեզ համար խորթ երկրի` այն ժամանակ հանկարծակի ծագած Ադրբեջան անունով հանրապետության կազմում»,- նշել է Նախագահը: Բակո Սահակյանն ընդգծել է, որ արցախահայությունը երբեք չի համակերպվել այդ բռնի ու անօրինական որոշման հետ: «Երկար տարիներ մենք շատ ջանքեր ենք գործադրել` վերականգնելու պատմական արդարությունը: Սակայն դա մեզ չէր հաջողվել, մինչև 1988 թվականի ազգային-ազատագրական շարժումը»,- ասել է Արցախի Հանրապետության ղեկավարը:
Նա իր և Արցախի ժողովրդի անունից խորին շնորհակալություն է հայտնել տեղական և օտարերկրյա լրատվամիջոցների ներկայացուցիչներին ողջ աշխարհին հավաստի տեղեկատվություն հաղորդելու համար:
