Հայաստանի նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն «Եռաբլուր» զինվորական պանթեոնում այսօր՝ մարտի 5-ին, ներկա է գտնվել ադրբեջանական ագրեսիան հետ մղելիս զոհված գնդացրորդ, պայմանագրային զինծառայող, 26-ամյա Սասուն Մկրտչյանի հոգեհանգստի արարողությանը: Սերժ Սարգսյանը նշել է, որ հայ ազգը գիտի հավերժ ապրելու բանաձեւը եւ դրա վառ ապացույցն այն է, որ հայերը կան եւ ապրում են այս տարածաշրջանում:
«Մենք այստեղ ենք, որպեսզի գլուխ խոնարհենք Սասուն Մկրտչյանի ու մեր մնացած հերոսների սխրագործության առաջ: Բոլոր նրանք, ովքեր վիճում են կամ կասկածում, թե այդ ինչպես եղավ, որ մեր ժողովուրդն հասավ մինչեւ 21-րդ դար այս բարդ տարածաշրջանում, պետք է հասկանա, որ պատասխանն այստեղ է, այստեղ հանգչող նահատակների գիտակցության մեջ, նրանց շուրթերին, որոնց գիտակցված մահն անմահություն է: Մենք կռվել ենք որպեսզի պաշտպանենք մեր տունը, մեր ընտանիքը, մեր ինքնությունը եւ մեր այսօրվա լինելիությունն այս տարածաշրջանում ամենախոշոր ապացույցն է, թե մենք ինչպես ենք կարողանում կռվել: Հայ ժողովրդի աչքի առաջ մի քանի անգամ փոխվել է այս տարածաշրջանի էթնիկ եւ կրոնական կազմը, ով ասես եկել, ով ասես գնացել է, բայց մենք լինելու ենք, որովհետեւ գիտենք հավերժ ապրելու բանաձեւը»,- իր ելույթում ասել է ՀՀ նախագահը:
